Moncada back to Angels. 1 year/4 million
WhiteSox2023 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Definitely. They will try to stretch that money into 3 or 4 more players. My guess is one starter, one outfielder, and two relievers, and I don’t even think they will spend all $20 million that was freed up. -

Just keep in mind, with that big $20 million that the White Sox freed up by trading deadweight Luis Robert, this the bin the White Sox will be shopping in to finish off this roster. -
OD 26 Man Roster Projection
Chicago White Sox replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah, easily the worst OF on paper. That being said, I still really like Baldwin and think he can be a nice player out there with more reps. I think Acuna has a very high ceiling defensively and room for improvement with the bat. If he can find a way to get more loft (which is already working on) and more routinely swing fast I think he could surpass 10 HR’s and that would make him a startable CF (by no means do I think that’s probable, but definitely in realm of possible). I also really like Pereira and think he will be the guy who surprises with more runway. Not a huge Kelenic fan and just feel he’s too much of a head case to radically improve his game at this point. - Today

Not sure why that gives Hahn a free pass for never having replacement level talent in AAA. He could have gone out and traded for a Tristan Peters or simply signed better AAAA types to minor league deals.
-
Come on, we all have that one hobby we love that we completely suck at, don’t try to get better at, and don’t actively participate in.
-
True, but even with as much as I disliked the return, like @PaleAleSox said, you may have ended up getting nothing for him if he got injured bad enough or with bad enough timing to not be healthy by the trade deadline. We would be wishing for an Acuna then. I guess you can always debate the risk of going with Robert into the season and him being both healthy and performing well by the deadline but that would be a risky bet.
-
These seem contradictory, no?
-
Probably, but I would have liked to see him in this lineup to see if he could increase his value, because clearly he didn’t have much as of now. Oh well.
-
Imagine what his value would be today in the glass arm era.

even below mediocre is expensive these days -
So it basically looks how it would 40 games in after he pulls something.
-
It's not if you imagine the "Acuna" listed is Ronald!
-
This team looks so much worse without Robert, my god. That outfield is horrific.

So did most of MLB. That's how you lose 100 games -
Cooper Criswell feels like a future White Sox player

LOL, Brewers are the king of the 90+ win seasons but always fall short in Oct. At some point that loses excitement with their fans and probably most of the MLB fans. People believe in the post season anything can happen. Cheapass seems to fail in the post season. You can crank out stud pitchers but even that will have a valley. The Cubs rarely need to add when the rest of the division is subtracting.

Let's always forget Getz was a failed farm director unless you are into always blaming the guy above
-
It is sad that White Sox fans have too much in common with Marlin, A's, Pirate fans.
-
They wanted to get better at run prevention but then they added a guy who has never played 1B to play 1B and signed Bichette to play 3B so who knows.
-
I don't get that kind of love for Billy Carlson, since he hasn't played a game yet.

First ballot unanimous. -
With all the moves the Mets have done recently, I wonder why they didn't resign Alonso
-
If the Agents ever got together and started their own Hall of Fame, Moncada's agent would be inducted.

Last year Moncada got some early big hits off us.

I was watching a Future Sox podcast yesterday and they mentioned Moncada going to the Angels. Danny Miller got off a great line mimicking the Lion King, "AcunaMoncada".
