  1. Past hour
  2. Wait until 201 when you learn Jerry was the definition of a Private Equity guy himself.
  3. 'Trying' The Sox have a 40 million dollar signing and suddenly they are 'trying' and everyone should stfu and be happy, and somehow the Mets spending money should scare us, I guess? The Stockholm Syndrome is real.
  4. He was legit terrible in AAA last year. That being said, there is risk here so why the f*** not.
  5. So, they need to get Blue Moon as a sponsor, put a literal moon somewhere on the concourse, and every time Mune hits a bomb its called a "moon" shot and the moon lights up or something.
  6. I used to like pff grades for offensive line and back end defense where I didn’t have view to see what was going on, but the positive grades it was giving to players like Coleman Shelton last year when our interior was constantly getting blown up soured me on it. Low and behold we replace all those schlubs and I see actual good Oline play so I’m just ok knowing I can’t really know.
  7. OK, lets not confuse 'trying this offseason' and 'signing a guy to a short term deal because long term interest wasn't there from anyone'. This is still the same organization, until at least 2029.
  8. Today
  9. No the key point is actually that they tried (and are still trying btw). The failure is so noteworthy because of how hard they’ve been trying. I will take that approach 10/10 times over whatever it is that JR does.
  10. The sad part is that Tray’s extremely dumb, long-winded rant should never of happened in the first place if he put any rationale into this and realized the Ishbia’s are purchasing the Sox with their own personal wealth and not buying it through Justin’s private equity firm. As such, the “leveraged buyout playbook” theory holds no meaning whatsoever and the accusation makes Tray look like an ever bigger clown.
  11. Yeah, it doesn’t really make sense. A baseball ops department is going to do what they think is best in consideration of the constraints they’re working under. You can argue with their decisions, but whether it’s win now or win later, they’re all trying to win. It seems evident that isn’t always the case with ownership, or at the very least isn’t a high enough priority. I don’t see how you could argue, given the information we’re privy to, with Cohen’s desire to put a winning product on the field, sleazeball or not. Given that same information, you could make a pretty compelling argument against Jerry, however.
  12. So the Mets have spent more this off season than the sox, but somehow the Sox are trying and the Mets aren't. Make it make sense.
  13. Everyone get their notebooks and pencils, “Private Equity 102” has begun. In this class you will learn that calling Jerry cheap is actually a stereotype but you will also learn that you don’t know anything about Ishbia. But Tray knows. And it’s bad
