  3. Written into the 26-year-old's contract extension is a clause that if spends over 120 days on the injured list with a left arm injury, would trigger a $15 million club option for 2032, essentially turning his six-year deal into a seven-year deal. Probably covers everything from shoulder/rotator cuff all the way through elbow/forearm.
  4. I just said to wait to see what Roch does in the Minors for Csakes.
  5. First Bill Maher, then Blago, and now this other @hole . I disagree.

  8. He will never be another Bobby Witt in power or speed or defensive brilliance. Meidroth is a very good but not quite great/elite defender. 2006-2008 Sox position groups, 2019-2021 all make good arguments. Current White Sox still not getting enough from OF overall...catcher pre Teel and DH has been below average, too.
  9. Meidroth has been something of a virtuoso at 2B defensively. He has range to his right and up the middle and has a quick catch and release on double plays. According to Baseball Reference, Chase has a .266 BA with 14 doubles and 6 HR. Replace him? No. What other lame brain ideas are out there to break up one of the best position player groups the White Sox have had since winning the World Series? Then consider his value as a gamer to this team in the clubhouse and on the field. The old adage "if it ain't broke don't fix it" should apply. Roch is the no. 1 pick, but at this point, it is hard to project him as being better than Colson Montgomery or Vargas or Meidroth at their respective positions. Once Roch has proven himself at a position of his choice and has had a minimum of 100 ABs at AAA, then he will get his chance at the major league level. After seeing so many other heralded Draft choices under perform or even fail, I am taking a wait and see approach on Roch. He might be another Bobby Witt Jr, or not.
  10. One thing that's interesting is the WNBA now passing NHL in average t.v. ratings...except for maybe peak Stanley Cup Finals Games 5-7. NASCAR has definitely gone backwards from high point 15+ years ago. No Tiger-Phil in golf. LIV distractions. MMA/wrestling trending upwards. College football ratings have never been higher, at least the Big Ten and SEC. NCAA softball way up.

  12. I hope you aren’t responding to my post above. I thought it was completely reasonable.
  13. I rolled my eyes at first once he said “we’re young” but he redeemed himself when he joked about “playing with kids.” 👴🏻
  14. You are 100 % right. But we all have visions of the perfect starting lineup in which it’s like MLB The Show with injuries turned off and you can have Antonacci’s better bat at 2B and add a power bat in LF for 162 games a year. 🤣
  15. Six years double figures in home runs, stole a ton of bases and had some good years batting average wise. His error totals weren't crazy, we're not talking Tim Anderson here and the strike outs weren't ridiculous. I'd take his career anytime on my team.
  16. Seems like a very small sample size, and not very scientific. Looks like they only talked to one guy. /

Having grown up playing both baseball basketball and soccer from Grade 4 through high school (late 80s), it's interesting to reflect on the changes over the last 30-40 years. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=951062647473877&id=100077104500727 The NBA once dominated MLB in viewership, but recent years have seen a dramatic reversal. We break down why baseball might be making a comeback, despite the popular narrative. #MLB This is from 2022. What changed? Ohtani and the Dodgers? Judge/Yankees? More parity? Exploding popularity in Pacific Rim and influx of Asian talent? WBCs? Fall off from Lebron and the Warriors? Too many threes in NBA? MLB relatively more affordable and family oriented in comparison?
  18. I feel like I have said this a million times, but I will say it again. These things have a way of sorting themselves out. I can't remember the last time we had an actual roster crunch or positional fight because we had too many good players at the same time. Oh we have these debates all of the time about what if this guy makes it, but until that actually happens, just play the guys in front of you. The odds that everyone of these guys makes it and forces Ant and Meidroth into some kind of fight to the death for only 2B, then we have a great problem people you have someone who you can then trade for a nice return. As it stands today, no one worth a damn is being blocked. Let them play and see who fails and who makes it.
  19. Except defensive lapses and Ks...although great going out into the outfield for popups.
  20. With that tough road trip coming up next week and having lost 13 of their last 18 road games, they need to make some hay that's for sure.
  21. Durham really was a complete player, very underrated.
  22. Iguchi really wasn’t that great outside of the WS year in 2005. We just remember him as better than he was because of the WS and that it had been such a long drought at 2B. Ray Ray owned Iguchi.
  23. Yesterday
  24. Iguchi shined the brightest. What if he just lifts his elbow higher? We should ask Schriff about it.
  25. Meidroth has been brutal this month, but is also 24 years old and still growing as a big league player. He will need to make some adjustments because the K rate has been crazy as of late, which is wild for someone with his natural bat to ball skills. Without putting any real thought into it, it does feel like he’s way too far off the plate. I don’t remember when this first happened, but feels like it was in the month of June and doesn’t seem to have worked out for him.
