  2. yes we're up to near 80 percent now on FG. we just need to get to 84 and we're likely in.
  3. Guardians pulling away from the pack with the wild card is probably a good thing for our overall playoff chances.
  4. Right now it feels like a no-hat. He's had insane stretches with all 3 teams.
  5. I sure hope so. I don't know which to choose. I'll say yes very hesitantly because I don't think any of the Wild Card contenders (excluding Cleveland) are any good. I guess the most likely option of the three is they take the last wild card spot, but I wouldn't be shocked if they fell out of the playoffs. The starting rotation is as bad right now as Ive ever seen it. Blowing a 4.5 game lead in a month is hard to do but not THAT hard. The Sox have done it before.

I am just scouting the stat line but damn Jaden Woods (acquired in the Jacob Gonzalez trade) can really rack up some strikeouts. 14.9 K/9 so far in Chicago and 44 strikeouts over 28 AAA innings.
  7. Yeah I had to correct that. Its about 50 points higher now.
  8. And they do seem to be doing that, which has helped his numbers.
  9. Worth noting his OPS is about 50 points higher against righties than lefties. And if you're going to start him, start him when your stronger lineup is in (RHP lineup over LHP lineup)
  10. And to their credit, they finally killed that experiment.
  11. Yeah, if there was an equivilant pitcher (RP or SP at this point) I would be in. Catcher I could listen on. Everything else? Nah.
  12. Don't mind him as a backup, mind him being a staple in the lineup getting regular playing time against lefties. Should be mixed in less than that, especially when none of our infielders need a RHH platoon partner.
  13. Yeah, he can back up the infield with his glove and lack of bat. He has neither in the OF.
  14. I like Gino, just don’t think he’s a good fit. There’s probably guys who fit the roster better that were also put on waivers, and we just didn’t hear about it.
  15. Today

  16. Goes in with no hat for statue? Red Sox? Braves?
  17. I am fairly confident that Acuna played himself out of the outfield with how bad he was with cutoffs and being properly positioned while catching the ball.
  18. They've got Tanner Murray and possibly Baldwin (not sure they still view him as a guy who can see time in the infield or not) for next year as well.
  19. And he can play CF and SS; dump him and they'll spend $5 mill on a utility infielder next year. The tradeoff would be Grichuk or Doyle. Switching Grichuk for him is obviously ridiculous. I'm still not sure why they traded for Doyle, but they had their reasons and I doubt they dump him this quickly to wishcast a Suarez return to form (such that it was).
  20. Wedded ignorant bliss is preferred to always waiting or expecting for the other shoe to drop . Prolong the honeymoon as long as possible. When things go sour people will sign the divorce papers. Just seems an odd time time to yell " It's a mirage people" ! So what if some don't understand why Caleb Bonemer is playing CF , it's a very minority opinion and they aren't running the show.
  21. Definitely no on Suarez but I’ve always said that Robert seems like a vibes guy. When things are going well, he seems to play better. Nothing more than a 4th OF/platoon guy though when rosters expand. I’d rather use the extra bench spot on that in September than the other 4 options: 3rd catcher (blah), Nishida, Perez, other DFA/waiver claim/etc not yet in org.
  22. Weren't willing to part with Jesus Made or their other talented MI prospect..
  23. No on Suarez or Robert Jr. , or messing with the team's composition at this point, other than the pitching staff.
  24. Also, our weakest hitters against LHP the last two months have been Murakami (68 wRC+) and Braden (55 wRC+). Both have been a bit unlucky with batted ball luck, but also aren’t rocking great ISO’s during stretch. Murakami had a 128 wRC+ against LHP through June, so there is zero reason to think he’s just a platoon guy at this point. Braden has struggled all year against LHP and while I don’t think he’s a platoon guy long term, I doubt he suddenly starts hitting them this year. If Suarez could actually hit LHP, you could put him at DH and Grichuk in RF and then sit Braden. I’m just not convinced he can hit LHP at this point in his career. Luis Robert, if made available, would be a much preferable fit because he still can hit LHP and would provide improved OF defense as well.
  25. If that dude could have held it together in his prime for like 3 straight years and no health issues it would have been stupid
