  2. Isn't Texas also the state that has arguably lost the most illegal/undocumented workers due to stricter immigration enforcement there and in Arizona? California definitely has much higher wages/cost of living/unionization efforts. Not to mention environmental regulations.
  3. Irsay's daughter is making these trades? Just curious.
  4. Then go out and get some experience. Put your time in doing minor league work like the majority without major league connections. Earn your stripes. A lot of people are unwilling to invest that time + low salary and effort required, all for the lack of a certain pay off. Much more lucrative and better odds to get into politics when one considers the actual scarcity of positions open.
  5. Today

  6. That's just it. If you aren't invited, you don't have a way to apply. There is no monster.com listing for this job. You aren't waltzing into someone's office and dropping a resume off. In 2026 you don't even get access TO apply, let alone actually able to apply.
  7. You means its not the 1980s anymore where I can walk into an office with a paper resume and talk to a hiring manager? Since when? Oh right.

I hope you're right. I've read elsewhere that there won' be many trades or free agent signings until after the lockout is over.
  9. Probably not, Still if I wanted that job i would apply for it. The worse that could happen is i would get no response.

With the CBA expiring on Dec 1st and uncertainty of when baseball will be back, I have to imagine November will be a busy month for trades and free agency. Depending on how long the lock out last there might not be much other time for trades and signing between that getting down and having spring training. Free agency should start next week.
  11. A few notes... #1, they are very clear that the White Sox want to leave Bridgeport to go closer to downtown. They do not really want to stay put. And since Ishbia is will to spend his own money, there isn't really an effective way to stop him. Even if for some reason the Amtrak facility is successfully stopped, the speculation was that Ishbia will find them ANOTHER location, get it done, and still look to move to the current Railyards facility. #2, the ISFA debt will be paid off by the time the lease is scheduled to expire in 2029. That debt will not exist when the Sox will be looking to move, and will have zero affect on them moving #3, when I sat here and told everyone that the power of railroads was absolute when it comes to property rights and doing what they want, this is a State Senator saying exactly that. If you didn't believe me, believe him.
  12. I've been under the impression you are a sports announcer. Why don't you apply for the White Sox announcing job? What do you have to lose? You might even get an interview and perhaps the job.
  13. Unless they are getting Simmons I don't know much better moves than this one from a pass rush perspective. For example - I'm not giving up a 4th for Mack. Has to be like a 5th or 6th and you get the following round pick back for me to do it. Don't think it moves the needle much at all.
  14. I'm guessing equivalent picks Colts are putting him to a spot he is more comfortable with. But he would have been worth this price for the Bears.
  15. Yeah they've gotten very left-handed (never thought I would every see/say this) and need to balance it the other way a bit
  16. I'm glad Getz kept Bonemer and didn't move him this past deadline. Really hopeful this kid can find a home and stick in LF. Would be HUGE to add a bat of his potential to the lineup.
  17. The City of Chicago would have to be crazy to object to this project. I remember when JR wanted to build a stadium at the 78. Mayor Johnson said "Show me some skin". Ishbia is showing some big time skin in this projject. I saw an interview with Ishbia where he mentioned the 606 trail in Bucktown. He wants a similar walkway from the stadium into Chinatown. The whole project looks wonderful.
  18. He’s an affable chap. Likes baseball, likes to laugh. I could see it.
  19. This is a really good interview. It's 40 minutes, but it's a great discussion about the Sox stadium situation. Cunningham provides excellent background on the power of railroads, how ISFA operates, location choices of privately-financed stadiums, and why a huge investment in the downtown area is vital to the city. The last 5 minutes or so are about the Bears stadium situation, but it's almost all about Sox new stadium effort.
  20. I love any suggestion that is "grew up a Sox fan." Give me an authentic emotion, bias and the homerism listening to games.
  21. It’s a new day, gentlemen. We just got the colon cleanse yesterday. Problems are being solved
  22. I always found his style exciting. He would be the perfect play by play man on TV. He was my boyhood idol.
  23. So in other words, being a steakhouse manager takes no industry expertise whatsoever. Learned something new..
