  1. Past hour
  2. I’d join him too. Of course, not in the same room…that would be awkward.
  3. @Chicago White Sox on Monday, if Getz manages to do the unthinkable…
  4. So we should hear about an agreement sooner. (again, not that I think it will be the Sox lol but just for the sake of someone who follows the offseason in general)
  5. Today
  6. How did the Mets have this much space available?
  7. Not that I think they will sign him, but does Murakami have to a deal finalized by Monday or just agreed to? If it’s the former, you would think an announcement would happen today.
  8. I've loved it so far. People have knocked it for feeling slow but I think that's more the TikTok, no attention span generation.
  9. Any Getz victory is a White Sox victory. Are you not OK with that ?
  10. Sure but not really if the plan is to sell the team when he dies he might be on the hook for all of a long term deal if he lives longer than expected and the 2029 sale to Ishbia's falls through because JR is still around. It also seems like slightly more than the bare minimum is being allocated to players now. It's a stretch to even imagine $90M spent on players this year and they havent signed anyone to a 3 year + deal since Getz was hired. Indications are he hardly wants to be on the hook for 2 year contacts unless the player can be traded. Plus even less likely with the good possibility of paying players through a lengthy work stoppage in 2027 which he doesnt like doing.
  11. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/articles/chiefs-expected-announce-move-missouri-214559268.html Chiefs getting closer to Kansas move...Royals still uncommitted
  12. Kmet, Loveland and Zaccheaus need to step up now too. Bears dominated GB in the second half with the running game, I want to see that from the get go, especially now that they are without Parsons.
  13. "San Diego’s projected payroll climbs to $218MM, as calculated by RosterResource. The backloaded nature doesn’t change the $25MM AAV used for luxury tax purposes. They’re up to a projected $259MM in tax commitments. They’ll exceed the $244MM base threshold for the second straight season. Repeat payors are taxed at a 30% rate for their first $20MM in overages. Re-signing King costs around $4.5MM in taxes. The more significant development is that it moves them closer to the $264MM second tier, at which the rate climbs to 42%." mlbtr
  14. I think Fairbanks is trying to get legit closer money. Regardless of what Fairbanks ends up signing for, it won’t be with the Sox.
  15. DJ Moore needs to earn his contract this Saturday.
  16. Unless you choose to believe the O'Hearn stuff. But he's almost exclusively LF DH 1B and not RF.
  17. If Keller and Weaver are both worth $22 million...it's not like Keller even had a solid background performance-wise until more recently. Ofc, same exact amount that Adrian Houser got after being basically dead in the water prior to 2025.
  18. Ken never says it’s for only one year. Maybe it’s 2-years at 18+ million? Either way, it’s too rich for Jerry’s blood.
  19. Exactly. The Sox aren’t going to spend any serious coin on another outfielder because B. Montgomery is waiting in the wings.
  20. No way Braden doesn't get held back until the cut off date....that would be malpractice considering his lack of playing time at AA/AAA.
  21. How does that make sense when the report earlier today or yesterday was that the Marlins were offering mid teens for one year? Someone's way off in their reporting.
  22. Stopgap moves are actually encouraging if you’re looking for a vote of confidence in him. I ain’t mad.
  23. "The Padres are in agreement with Michael King on a three-year contract, reports Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. The deal includes opt-outs after each of the first two seasons. It’s a $75MM guarantee, Feinsand adds. King receives a $12MM signing bonus and a $5MM salary for the 2026 season. He’ll decide on a $28MM player option or $5MM buyout next winter and would have a $30MM player option for 2028 if he doesn’t opt out." mlbtraderumors Talk about creative book-keeping here. $28 and $30 million deals might kill the Padres in 2027-28.
