  1. Past hour

  2. It was over the finger of a defender, by mere inches, and behind Rome where only he could catch it, and that ball was a tight spiral. GYRATING as Tom would say
  3. I'm hoping in reverse jinx - it will be the opposite of the Bryant reports from players.
  4. The tenor of the players quotes regarding Kmet and a lot of the posts on Twitter and bluesky seem to think the year is over for Cole
  5. He was playing pretty well given the lack of holes. Looked like he got stronger as game went on and you know he's already playing banged up. Rest comes at a good time, really hoping Kmet's injury is in that 4-6 week timeline and we get him back for stretch line vs. a season ending injury.
  6. Not going to lie, I was wondering how they would come back with a target on their back and a much tougher schedule, but they are doing enough to win games, even when Caleb was out.
  7. It is the best throw I've seen from a 'how did you think to throw that', he also had one of those vs. Oakland last year when he hit a leaping rome when he looked completely covered.
  8. I can't figure out what I want. Sorta think we'd be a good option for Rogers because we've handled these boom/bust eras well last year, but I also just want a guy we can trust. Will be excited to fill out the staff
  9. Today

  10. I was at the Trop to see the White Sox Friday night game in the series this summer (we won)! I had a better experience at the Trop than I would have guessed. It is sterile. It is odd. The bullpen situation is just...strange! But...customer service was outstanding! People were friendly! We hit some BOMBS that night (so did Junior)! Interesting that you mentioned the lighting...one of my takeaways from that night was how easy it was to see the ball. The lighting was great for what I thought was going to be a subpar experience. I enjoyed watching a game at the Trop way more than I ever guessed I would. Although it had a very different feel to it when compared to attending an outdoor game!
  11. We’ll see. At the very least, I hope he’s a very solid player for us. I’d love to see him give the new exploding scoreboard a workout in a few years at the Railyards.
  12. Caleb's arm is something else.
  13. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/mlb-free-agency-top-50-ranking-the-best-players-available-this-winter-starting-with-tarik-skubal-and-freddy-peralta-200115707.html Everything from the 30's on pretty much a crapshoot in this class that probably ends with only 3 guys breaking $100 million. Skubal Peralta and Sato "Sato's strikeout rate has hovered around 27% the past two seasons, while Murakami's was closer to 30%. The crucial distinction between the two players' plate discipline profiles is that while Sato whiffs less (especially in-zone) than Murakami, he chases significantly more pitches outside the strike zone. So while Sato might not strike out as often as Murakami, he might have a much tougher time offsetting those strikeouts with walks. The other element tilting in Sato's favor is his defensive outlook. He is not a definitive lock to stay at third base, but he has the athleticism to warrant a longer look at the hot corner than Murakami, who was immediately moved to first. Sato and his strong arm could also profile well in a corner outfield spot. Of course, it's still all about the bat, and if a team believes he can fully translate his special slugging potential, Sato is going to get paid handsomely."
  14. Just thinking about that throw to Rome
  15. Fegan getting a bit too high on his own supply while typing up articles.
  16. Honestly I thought Swift’s knee injury looked worse earlier in the game, he got a helmet directly to the knee cap, I thought he was done for a while. Turned out to be just a gash and was back in a couple plays later. Damn these dudes are tough.
  17. Mods are asleep.
  18. Huge win great game. JJ - bench him and send a message. Kmet I hope it is not serious. Wishing best news / outcome.
  19. Feels good having one of the better QBs in the league
  20. Same thoughts and good vibes to him. Losing him would suck. A knee injury is never good.
  21. Prayers to Cole Kmet.
  22. They need to add some pass rush help and a replacement for Jaylon Johnson. Allen has made the defense work despite having no good pass rushers or corners by blitzing every chance he gets. But good defenses can't survive like that. You have to be able to get some pressure rushing 4.
  23. I’ve been to the Rate all my life and haven’t had any issue with it. The tailgating is nice since I think ballpark prices are outrageous. I can sit in the outfield, upper deck, infield and shop for the best value seats. It’s fine for what it is. Wrigley is ok but my guess is Fenway is better. I didn’t care for it when I went in 2014 and in 2016 before and during the renovations. I really enjoyed Tropicana Field with my dad and son earlier this year. We sat in the section behind the plate and saw the Rays and Detroit play. The concourse isn’t much and gives off United Center vibes, but the in game lighting and music is fun to be around. Sting rays in center field are a nice touch. Miller Park was interesting to watch a game at, but it was far more interesting to umpire my twin brothers’ game in the field next to it. Got to call my brother out on strikes as my younger brother pitched to him (ABS challenge would not have upheld that call 😂).
  24. When you consider the level of competition and how many clutch plays he made on 3rd and 4th down, this is probably his best game of the year so far.
  25. The “f*** the Packers” chant in the postgame is a nice touch…
