  1. No. I also believe the occasional bad contract is a healthy sign of a team being competitive.

  2. Ishbia has made it clear they aren't moving to Nashville...the second part of your comment is what is going on. Also to be clear it's not a strike, the owners are going to lock out the players.

  3. Just being honest. They don’t really look like they want to play much, and the games go south quickly when they are in. It’s probably because they are undersized compared to the first line players. I guess that’s why they are backups. But everyone has a role, and theirs is to make sure the starters don’t get injured in blowouts by allowing them to sit out the fourth quarter or longer.

  4. I think it's simplistic to just say the owners are stupid. The owners are multi-billionaires and CEOs. They're going to act in their own interests. The players had gotten their pockets picked for a decade or so, allowing the owners to claw back control in exchange for better post-game food spreads and better hot tubs. I agree with you that the owners might puff out their chests, get all tough to cancel all the winter meetings, and then they'll magically come to agreement in the middle of March for a quick 3-week spring training, then a full season. I believe they'll hold up the salary cap, and trade that away for more rule changes and pilferage around the edges.

  5. Having a work stoppage the year before your tv deal is up would be quite the stupid move.

  6. I hear you. But the snow wasn't bad at all in champaign on saturday night. Did ISU get all the snow predicted if Champaign didn't? Could they have gone to NIU on Saturday this week? Or next Saturday? I just think the kids should be allowed to play on Friday night or Saturday this week. Is Brother Rice going to have a half day school Wednesday? Then have buses take all the students to NIU? I am glad your son gets some more rest for his knees. Say what we want .... it's just high school sports but if these kids win the state title they will be regarded as Rice legends forever. Football is a big deal in the CCL as we all know. Anyhow I accept whatever the decision is. I am all for the players and I will not think any less of these players if we lose to Rita. These kids deserve a parade. It's high school sports and these kids have had the best season in Rice history perhaps. I'm just saying Rice is known for its academics and its football. Winning the title would be monumental forevermore.

  7. What if it were for some one like James Wood. Then you still have Quero and Lee with outfield of Wood, Robert and Montgomery by August hopefully. To me Quero seemed to have better skills behind the plate anyway, although not sure what the numbers say.

  8. Win 2 of 5 and they're in the playoffs. Win 3 of 5 and they win the division. I think they need to aim for at least a split with the Packers, beat the Browns at home, and then win 1 of 2 against the Lions and 49ers. Win 1 of 5 and they're gonna need the Lions to lose 3 of their last 5 and the Cowboys to lose 2 of their last 5.

  13. Teel can hit and can play outfield. He's obviously the most valuable. To me Quero passed the eye test at catcher; he's 22. Lots of potential And I still like Lee as a backup. Don't trade any, unless it's for a premium (and a big premium for Teel).

  14. What is Querro's value? A recent top 100 prospect who generated 1.2 bwar when called up. 22yo switch-hitter at premium position. Yeah he is slow, so are almost all catchers. The fact he didn't bomb when called up I would think adds to his value so I would be holding out for a similar young player with some success in the outfield or if getting prospects a top 100 plus more?
