  1. Baldwin will be #27. The White Sox who wore that number the longest? Lucas Giolito. Duke Ellis, Bryan Shaw and Rafael Ortega all wore #27 this year.
  2. This was probably the one iconic ballpark I've gone to that had mythical status from my childhood. The Astrodome would have been another.
  3. Grifol should just use a random word generator for his quotes. They would make as much sense. http://watchout4snakes.com/Random/RandomParagraph
  4. I can't imagine he would want to to that, unless, like you said, the Dodgers are sending over their top ten, or their scouting departments.
  5. Read the political headlines about the campaign.
  6. https://www.si.com/mlb/yankees/news/dodgers-heavily-in-on-garrett-crochet-luis-robert-jr-could-yankees-get-involved
  7. Nice piece on our 2nd and 5th rounders, Bonemer and Antonacci. https://soxmachine.com/2024/07/white-sox-draft-picks-caleb-bonemer-and-sam-antonacci-talk-proving-themselves-against-top-competition/
  8. Considering that beyond Luis Robert, our CFers are Pham, Julks and Benintendi, low bar to clear.
  9. Jared Walsh released. I still think Getz will try to move anyone off of the ML roster. If Sheets and Vaughn go, maybe they go with some configuration of Colas/Sosa/Perez at 1B? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/white-sox-release-jared-walsh.html
  10. Unsaid so far - Baldwin is probably the 2nd best CF on the 26-man right now. Maybe swings between SS-CF in a post TDL platoon with Fletcher.
  11. FutureSox podcast breaking down the individual picks. Nice listen: https://www.futuresox.net/2024/07/18/futuresox-ru-draft-analysis-special/
  12. Mendick's deal wasn't guaranteed. Senzel has been better than Mendick, and they're paying Senzel the pro-rated minimum. It's not a waste of money.
  13. I was. My comment was more about there being a dearth of MI talent available at the TDL. Senzel's probably more a guy to catch grounders once the dust settles.
  14. I meant Moncada, not Maldonado.
  15. But then there's this: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/the-trade-market-remains-light-on-middle-infield-talent.html The fact we're talking about DeJong, Lopez and Moncada maybe garnering interest does back that up. edit: Moncada, not Maldonado.
  16. I guess this should have given us a hint
  17. .958 OPS, 2nd on team in HRs (16) https://latechsports.com/sports/baseball/stats/2024?path=baseball
