I'm so unsurprised that I can predict the over-reactions.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Yes, there would be some of that. It would be drowned out by kvetching over Chris Getz failing because Robert was "only" hitting .250, and how Chris Getz would fail if he didn't get 3 top 30 prospects from the receiving team.

Technically, it wasn't the worst. The '62 Mets had a worse winning percentage.- Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Yes we would. Do you not read the comments, here?- Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Yes, it is. You should rewatch Bull Durham. Just one more hit a week is the difference between a .250 hitter to a .300 hitter. One Texas-leaguer. One beat out infield single. One short hop, ball off the pitcher's leg, one ball in the lights. Fifty points.- Can Shane Smith win AL Rookie of Year?
His "Hall-of-Fame" is his point.- Atletic story on front offices...
I wouldn't expect an organization that just tore up the floor boards and embarked on a rebuild to receive any votes for "best front office". It's going to take a while for Getz & Co. to settle in and develop a reputation.- Offense non-development...
Andy Barkett? Chris Getz cleaned house at the end of the 2023 season.- Can Shane Smith win AL Rookie of Year?
Well, a string on April 15 about a minor leaguer who has played 3 games winning ROY is fanciful, in itself. My comment was not that Meidroth is Superman, but that he would have to play great defense and maintain for most of the year in a fallow year for prospects in order to get close. 2025 looks like the Red Sox and Yankees are rolling out their top prospects, and the year is too long for a glorified Nick Madrigal to BB his way to an award.- Can Shane Smith win AL Rookie of Year?
Last year's ROY went to Luis Gil and his pretty pedestrian 3.0 bWAR. If the AL has a bunch of above-average players, and Meidroth somehow breaks through with a 5.5 bWAR season, yeah, I could see him getting votes, but if a guy like Shane Smith dominates (or some top rated prospect), he could put that up and win going away.- Slater torn meniscus; Jones back
And you want a team made up of 26 guys like that. LOL.- Offense non-development...
Once again...who cares? Hahn did get his team to back to back playoff appearances. Is that somehow ... beneath you...? LOL.- Offense non-development...
Getz has already done better on the secondary trades and Rule 5 than the collected works of Hahn. I believe Hahn grabbed Adrian Nieto, an A-ball catcher, and they really tried to "hide" him on the bench. He couldn't catch Sale. All the bullpen arms acquired for Melky and such, William Bergolla has more prospect than any of Hahn's scraps.- Slater torn meniscus; Jones back
He had one really bad game at 3B in ST, and he looks like he can hack that for now.- Offense non-development...
James McCann realized a rebirth here, and Grandal had one good year out of four. That's the problem with free agents. They're usually in their late 20's, and you're paying top dollar for some real clunkers in there.- Offense non-development...
Sounds like you answered your own question. What is it that you're confused about?- Offense non-development...
I'm not sure what you're getting at. The guy contrasted a very detailed article about some areas of improvement being pursued with an actual fluff piece about development assignments. Big difference. The article was posted about a month before the entire minor league season was wiped out. Why don't you call the White Sox offices, ask to speak to an assistant GM, and ask them that question. Let us know what you find out. I once called to ask some questions about the "white flag trade", and Dan Evans picked up the phone and talked to me for about 20 minutes.- Andrew Vaughn is Officially a Bust
Vaughn hit a bit over average in 2022, then the league adjusted, and he's a league average bat, which is a lot less than what he needs to be at 1B. Yeah, he doesn't seem obsessed with monitoring his approach and results by devouring data about his hit tool. Vaughn seemed like the kind of pick who "at least he'll hit". By the time he gets to his one hot month of the season, it's way too late for him to make any positive contribution.- Slater torn meniscus; Jones back
It was one 9-inning game. Are you referring to his time in LA?- Offense non-development...
That story's a lot less detailed. And then COVID happened a month later.- Offense non-development...
Here's an informative story that explores the changes the White Sox have been implementing over the winter, and how they're working. https://soxmachine.com/2025/04/the-white-sox-are-chasing-a-more-disciplined-offense- Andrew Vaughn is Officially a Bust
Maybe Drury's the guy who makes Vaughn expendable. Traditionally, Vaughn doesn't really heat up until June. That's asking a lot.- Offense non-development...
Lenyn Sosa put up a .964 OPS last September.- Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
You seem to think the team should make no moves unless the next 15 years are set in place. Michael A. Taylor is a very good CF. His offense is lacking, but he provides strong defense. If you get James Outman in return, he's a good defensive CF, too, for the near term. Shane Smith could be here in 2030. The other three could be gone/traded by then, either due to performance, or moves for prospects to make room for Schultz/Smith/Taylor. - Atletic story on front offices...
