When we trade Hill for 2 minor leaguers, we "gave him away for free". So in that same vein, we got Doyle for free, as well as Bart and Brazoban.

Quero seems to need work on all parts of his game, whereas it could be assumed that Doyle's defense will play. I don't know how catching defense affects fWAR, but I've always found that fWAR and bWAR were pretty useless when including catching defense. Does Baseball Prospectus still have the best catcher ranking system?
