  1. Surely, you jest.
  2. Sure, I'm probably getting off on a tangent. No, nothing short of Chris Sale, Garret Crochet - somebody like that - would bring back "elite" prospects. A Davis Martin trade would mean cancelling a couple of family vacations for scouts, coaches and stats guys to dig down and find some unpolished gems in the other team's system. Fedde was a 4-WAR pitcher, and most teams were like, "uh, you know? We're fine with our own farm dudes."
  3. I really don't know what Getz was attempting, coming into the 2024 season, and I don't know what he was looking at. I'd guess he was banking on Yoan, Eloy and Robert maintaining a bit of value, maybe stay respectably bad for a couple of months, then trade them and fall off the table end of July. Nothing worked, everything broke, so every move looked like a premeditated disaster. On top of that, new GM, maybe the offers he was getting was the more established GMs trying to take advantage, so he just held his cards. He did 2 trades with AA in Atlanta, one with Seattle, and one with Barfield's old team.
  4. Schultz is already in the bigs. Would you trade Mathias LaCombe, or maybe Yoikher Fajardo? How about a mixed up looking Christian Oppor? I have no dog in the fight, but I think every trade period is different. A couple teams hold onto the guys everybody was banking on being available, so then the next tier becomes a bit more valuable. That being said, I really think they should hold onto Martin. Even with as much pitching we have in the pipeline, a bird in the hand....
  5. I'll learn to look at the account before copying. One day.
  6. It was either obvious, or it wasn't obvious. If it was obvious, I doubt that 4 posters on a comment board were prescient enough to know that Robert would be chronically injured at regular intervals, but the rest of baseball could be tricked into trading all of their best prospects for him if the Sox GM was as smart as those 4 posters.
  7. Yankee 1B Rice popped for PEDs. PARODY ACCOUNT
  8. If it was so obvious, then it was obvious to other teams also, and they were probably offering worse packages than the eventual Mets' trade offer.
  9. The official, pretty version:
  10. Yeah, as we near July 1, if he still has a wRC+ under 80, maybe they eat the extra half year? They jettisoned Sosa pretty easily, so they're not hanging on to Beni for the prospect of 20 HRs this year.
  11. I thought this was a White Sox board. Weird how being happy about the team this board is about feels like trolling to some. LOL.
  12. Wow. Every loss in the last couple of years would get a running tally of records in 1 run losses, number of games lost with a lead after 7 innings, etc. Weird how people get angry over the opposite, people being happy that those trends are reversed.
  13. I've been told this is a really important stat. Nobody refers to it this year. I'm not sure why.
  14. Just getting this up for @chitownsportsfan to get his Irish up early.
  15. Dude wants a ring
  16. I'd have Gonzo up for Acuña yesterday. I think they'd like a RH bat, but they're pretty LHH heavy in AAA. I'd be surprised if B. Monty's up before ... July 1(?) I thought they'd leave him down until after the TDL, but if he's hitting and they're actually in a divisional race, maybe they try to tutor him while in the bigs.
  17. Sent down for Ant-man
  18. I can only assume you do this last word game in order to generate more posts. You know that mirrors work for you too, right?
  19. On any given day, they have a catcher, 2 OF and Acuña sitting on the bench. If they lose Acuña for Pereira, say, they have 0 (zero) IF on the bench, and Antonacci is the sole backup.
  20. My advice to myself is push back on the punks who troll me.
  21. I don't care if you sit on the fence cross-legged or English style. Just make sense when I get a notification that I have a response to a post.
