Update: At the start of the year, I told myself the Sox need to win 5 out of every 16 games to get to 50 wins (and then they’d still have two games to spare). So I will break the season into ten different 16-game chunks. I’ll update every time we finish another 16 games. Here are the results: 4-12 5-11 5-11 7-9 4-12 Total: 25-55, on pace for 51 wins. Halfway there, and they’ve won exactly 5 out of every 16 games.

Charlotte was up 3-1 heading to the bottom of the ninth and Anderson struck out the first two guys in the inning. Then walk, single, single, walk, walk, walk. Game over.

And if he had a great first half, it would have been a horrible decision to move him in the winter. And if you were sure he’d be bad this year, then you shouldn’t have refused to give a prediction on his WAR this year when I asked you to make one.

Very impressive. It’ll be interesting to see if he fades a little at A+ like Braden did. Only 11 games there so far, but he’s mashing.

I posted this in a minor league games thread a couple days ago, but it got lost in the shuffle: Jacob Gonzalez with a couple more hits and a couple more RBIs today. Does he have a chance to be something still? I think he has an OPS of around .800 since the beginning of May. Anybody have thoughts on him? @Y2Jimmy0?

Yeah, the game-winning RBI is the RBI that gives you the lead that you never relinquish.

Robert had the game-winning RBI, but definitely a clutch hit by Quero.

So smart of Wilson to let guys get on base to get through the top six guys in their order in the 8th inning.

I mean, that’s fair. I understand what you’re saying. But it’s all cyclical with this message board (and probably every sports message board that ever existed). This “see you’re wrong!” post is a result of people questioning posts during the offseason where others were trying to be optimistic. And now that he made this post, I’m sure there will be somebody who throws it back in his face when things go south. And round and round we go.

I didn’t say anything about his post wasn’t true. But the tone of his first two posts in this thread gives the impression that he got annoyed and bothered, and I’m not sure why. Even if the original post was overly optimistic, who cares? Maybe it’s because I’m more of an optimist than a pessimist, but I can’t imagine seeing somebody get excited about my favorite team and getting bothered by it, even if I didn’t agree with it.

This thread seems to bother you a little more than it should.
