Nah. This is on balance relatively weak. Snelling should be the headliner. Zavala is interesting and very advanced for age. Wish he had more power projection. I wouldn't say Preller destroyed Getz, but he did, at a minimum, give him a bad cold. Either way, I think @Balta1701 and @baseball_gal_aly are basically right on balance. Sad but true.

I dont think there's any dispute that there's a market. The question is, is the market in the low 40m SV range, or does the pitching premium and/or Cole situation push it into the 50s. We saw about a 10% premium with the Burnes situation (33m value...they paid 36m). Similar premium would make this trade be around 46m...perhaps a bit more if it's NYY.

Yep...Getz is insisting on Jones as the main piece per Bob and ofcourse there will be secondary pieces. If they are willing to eventually (like in 2 weeks) give in on Jones, I'll take Warren instead of Hampton if it would make Cashman feel better. Either way, it's Jones+.

Awful. No. If you want a "volume" deal in lieu of Jones or Dominguez, it would be Arias, Hampton, Lalane and Lombard.

1.5 times equals 36m SV times 1.5 = 54m SV roughly NYY: Jones (34) plus Hampton (16) and a small third piece OR Arias (21) plus Hampton (16) plus Lalane (11) plus a small fourth piece.

JR is unwilling to pay cash for SP because they break so often, so Getz is backed into the corner of using trade assets for SP. I agree that the positional side should be addressed first but they seem to hate savages and any kind of meaningful offense in general.

The whole argument is basically whether he is worth 2 Top 100s (or equivalents for young players who graduated) or 1 Top 100. Balta believes the latter. If the Rangers return is true then Balta would be right but that just seems unlikely in this market.

Snelling would be a very good main piece if NYY is still playing games.
