  1. If Bush can be a groundball lefty no. 4 type that would be very helpful at GRF and in a rotation of RHP.
  2. Boras got owned. Now get his pitchers signed so we can move Cease
  3. We need one of NYY SPers to get hurt in ST to force the issue or for Rodon to look like s%*# again.
  4. Fangraphs also noted that Gonzalez put in alot of work in the fall as did Jimmy. Hopefully he has a good showing this year in the minors.
  5. Good luck to Liam! I will always cheer for him when he isnt pitching against us.
  6. Hopefully his wrist is 100%. If he can get to 15 HRs along with maintaining a good AVG and OBP, we might be able to unload his contract (or most of it) at the deadline.
  7. Jimmy, anything new on the Cease front? You implied the other day things were heating up with BAL again.
  8. I keep getting a weird feeling about PIT. There were rumors about them before. T. Johnson, Jones and Solometo = 49m Cease =42m Tough to say no to a LHS that can stick at 2B, plus a RHP and LHP.
  9. Good. However, if Westburg has been the key element that has kept the parties apart this whole time, the fact that Elias already traded away Ortiz may make it more difficult for him to part with another IFer (assuming Getz doesn't think Norby can stick at 2B). On the other hand they are desperate. Kjerstad, Westburg and Povich (3) OR Westburg, Bradfield, Beavers and Povich (4). Get it done
  10. 51.70 for 42.40 isn't a massive overpay with the SP premium and the fact that the trade partner is or should be somewhat desperate. Getz is gonna insist on a SP somewhere in the package and we need more LHP.
  11. If Getz wanted Cowser, he kind of has a poor man's version in Fletcher now (I realize there is a big gap in talent). As much as we would prefer Kjerstad, Getz hates that profile right or wrong (and he's wrong), so I wonder if he just says Westburg and Bradfield (Robert insurance for later) as the key pieces with Beavers 3rd and a pitcher 4th. It's still an aggressive package but put together differently. BTV says Westburg, Bradfield, Beavers and Povich = 51.70 Cease= 42.40. The 10% SP premium from Burnes precedent puts 42.40 to about 47 which is close to 51.70 and the other 4.7 million would be the desperation premium.
  12. At some point this year, I would expect all of the following guys up: Montgomery, Ramos, Quero (perhaps late in the season), Nastrini, Eder, and ofcourse Fletcher will start with thr club. Plus ofcourse whoever comes from the Cease trade.
  13. He's certainly very stubborn and for good reason, he is an excellent and patient GM who prizes prospects as he should, but when you have a weak hand you gotta know when to hold em and when to fold em. Dude is up s%*# creek without a paddle. f*** him.....if we are going to bail him out...he will meet Getz demands.
  14. What would you expect him to do....go hiding under his Mommy's dress in tears? He has to play it cool because sharks are circling.
  15. Still think Elias won't give up Westburg and Kjerstad and a pitcher? Seems like we've got his dick in a blender with Getz index finger on the start button, sure would be a shame if we redefined what a Bloody Mary is...
  16. There was something awhile back where some dude/writer was claiming on Twitter that PIT was trying hard to get Cease. They have alot of pitching in their system so Getz would like that and a LHS in T. Johnson.
  17. Not surprising. Tony has JRs ear and KW/Hahn crossed him at their ultimate peril. Pedro has enough office politics skills to recognize where his bread will be buttered and I'm sure Getz recognizes the same. If someone thinks Tony's role is really limited and focused, I don't know what to tell them.
  18. Lol at tone deaf Pedro. No douchebag, the "reason" you are here is because you're skilled at being a smooth talking corporate bootlicker who agreed to accept a cheap salary, so the organization decided in its infinite wisdom that you'd fit like a glove.
  19. FWIW, Arias, Hampton and Lalane would be 49m on BTV, I didn't see Rice on there but perhaps I missed him. Cease ofcourse at 42, so it's actually pretty reasonable when you add in the 10% premium for SP based on the Burnes trade (36 vs 33).
  20. Speaking of NYY prospects, Law did his writeup on The Athletic. He actually likes Arias (3) more than Jones (4) and feels Arias has best upside of anyone in system outside of Dominguez. Very good batspeed from left side, arm and speed and should stick at SS. He acknowledges Jones has mega power but pitch recognition needs alot of work and success rate of people built like him isnt high. Also likes Lombard (5). Expects above avg defense at SS and good power. Doesn't seem to be super high on Hampton (6) or Warren (9) based on writeups. Thinks Lalane (11) is a long term play with mid rotation potential or even better, 6'7 LHP touches 97 with easy delivery. As to @Chicago White Sox boy Ben Rice (20), thinks he can be platoon 1B/DH and maybe backup catcher, but isnt really a catcher. Very strong and left handed but has uphill swing that could be exploited by better pitching. For more see https://theathletic.com/5261866/2024/02/12/yankees-2024-top-prospects-keith-law/
  21. I dont know why I even waste my time watching this s%*#.
