Why would they commit a boatload of money to Swanson when it looks like Montgomery may stick at SS and will cost very little for awhile? I'm on board with moving Anderson for a haul but I'm not on board with tying up alot of money at SS. We just need a bridge player. If they have money to spend add a savage LH 2B or OF.

There's no way we can pay 4/60 for Benintendi when we cant even afford a pot to piss in. I could see it being Gallo assuming they gave him a 2nd year since he reportedly got more than 1 year offers. Or more likely, they expect Swanson to sign shortly and whatever trade they have lined up may now be set in motion.

Hopefully Swanson to somewhere other than LA.

Honestly, I'd do the Kepler trade for someone like ReyLo since the value is similar assuming it's TA or Giolito that's moved and not Hendriks. I don't think the pen would be in good shape without both LH and RL but we will be relatively ok without one of them.

Kepler's OBP would be solid without the shift but his SLG would still suck. I'd rather have his adjusted numbers and ++ defense than Gallo if it's between them but MIN won't give him away to us.

I don't think Hahn is a great GM, but TLR controlled resource allocation the last few years. Now RH has to unwind a bullpen heavy payroll.

Baseball Trade Values has Busch, Outman and Pepiot almost identical in value to Anderson, FWIW. Man, get Correa and Swanson signed already, we need legit Sox moves

I've heard from a LAD friend that they really don't want to give up Lux and prolly would offer Busch instead who is really more of a 1B than 2B and that doesn't help us really. On the other hand, we don't care about defense so maybe RH will be fine with Busch if they add in something else on top of him, Pepiot and Outman.

LA would be a good trade fit. Get Lux, Outman and Pepiot ASAP.

Now that Bogaerts went to SD, trade market has to be warming up. Correa is the next shoe to drop and we should be sitting pretty.

Now that SS market is moving, let's see if TA trade takes off.

Nah....CWS is right. If they dont trade TA and solve multiple roster needs cheaply in one shot, they have to create payroll space somehow in another way and his value should be high with the money RPs are getting. They made a decision to artificially set a tight budget and there's too much money in the pen. We are gonna have to rob Peter to pay Paul somehow to address needs, it's just a question of who is getting robbed and where the benefit will go.

It could also be Yolbert. He's in AAA now and while his offense cratered once he made the leap from AA to AAA, isn't his defense good? You can bat him 9th. That would be an ultra cheap option.

It solves cost controlled LHH 2B issue and then they have the flexibility of dealing some of those guys like Sosa, Rodriguez etc. And LAD is prolly saying no but we will give you Busch instead who is really just a 1B. And maybe ask for Outman and Pepiot too but then we would need to throw something else into the pot (worth about 4m in SV) to even it out. Lux, Pepiot and Outman for Anderson plus something small.

Interesting. Gotta see what happens with Bogaerts and the other SS's first I assume. If none of them go to LAD or BOS then I assume something will happen
