It will take more than just him and I don't like adding in any of the names mentioned. If it's Hendriks straight up, I'd do it immediately.

Savagery is on the way!

Agreed. This is far superior to the others. Nimmo at 7/145 is ridiculous. Sign Conforto to 1 year put him in LF. Profit.
-
RH already said "we're not throwing money at the problem" (i.e. Tony already signed too many garbage relievers to long term immovable deals so all we can do under current budget is make small changes here and there even though any RHP worth his salt will shred the lineup. Again.". Ofcourse Philly "threw money at the problem" and signed multiple savages and now they are in the World Series.

Nice!

Losing out on Quatraro hurts. They really have to land Long or things will get even more toxic.

Great hire for them. Meanwhile we are still a clown show unprofessional organization.
-
Yep. This is really bad.

Perhaps FO cancelled SoxFest because they knew JR would overrule them again on the manager hire and just didn't want to deal with any additional fan anger.
-
That's the issue though. I fear we would be blowing our wad at one spot and then they'll go super cheap to address SP, 2B etc. I'd rather have Conforto on 1 yr deal in LF and add a more premium 2B or SP rather than 100m+ for Nimmo.
-
If we have 15-30 to work with...they can add Conforto on a 1 yr prove it deal for LF (Nimmo will be too expensive) like 1/10 and you can definitely add a 5th starter for 8-10. Problem is there is still a huge hole at 2B and no way to really address it unless you are gonna move Eloy for Chisholm and then have Grandal DH since he can't catch anymore.

Long is prolly the best we can hope for since I don't see JR signing off Espada or Quatraro.

Wow....im shocked you got any kind of decent halfway substantive response from them. I'm sure there's alot of good people who truly want things to be different and want to do good, including RH, but between "budget constraints", archaic infrastructure, and ownership meddling they are kind of caught in between. I thought I read somewhere that Boras said Hahn wants to modernize the organization and really bring it to the present so im sure he is frustrated too not just marketing people. Instead, he's stuck being forced to trot out there and try and put a lawyerly and thoughtful sounding gloss on bullshit decisions. He doesn't have any real juice, he's just a glorified white house press secretary pretty much. I know people say if that's the fact you should just quit but realistically how many of us would give up a million bucks a year or whatever he makes cushy gig where you have great job security and no accountability and all you have to do is take arrows in front of the media and spin other people's decisions. Very few of us would let that job go, even if we were only the GM in title only. Nothing is going to change until JR is gone. We have to just accept that making the playoffs is basically the ceiling and they can even f*** that up too even when it's seemingly a layup. There are no championships or parades or any of that nonsense. The window is just about playoff berths that's all...nothing more and nothing less. If they are lucky enough to win a series here and there with this group it's gravy but there's no real title window. At least you got away from batshit crazy neighbors so take whatever wins you can get even when they aren't on the baseball field. I imagine Chicago weather is much worse than Nashville though. I only went to Chicago once and the weather was awful. Ofcourse to me, 65 degrees is cold so what do I know.
