I looked him up. Turang isn't even a top-100 prospect. And he's a short stop. Is he gonna move Tim Anderson out in a year or two? You guys kill me.

So you want to trade our best player and a 9 for 9 guy in saves for a prospect, who may or may not make it to the majors? I'm am sorry. I absolutely don't get this logic. And don't tell me these guys are can't miss. One name: Blake Rutherford.

Can we also stop with the trade him for prospect and then resign him as a free agent next year? Come on! He is happy here. If the front office devalues him and trades him, that will completely change his attitude towards the Sox and their front office. If you were Abreau, and got traded from a team and players you really like and saw as a home, repeatedly said you want to finish out your career with the Sox, but then got shuffled off like that, would you want to return to that club after the insult of being traded? Of course not. I wouldn't even think about returning to the Sox if they did that to me. I know Chapman did it, but it was returning to the Yankees and Chapman is a mercenary with no loyalty, just chasing bucks. I don't think Abreu is like that.

Avi who we could have kept for 2/3 of what we're paying Yonder Alonso? Avi with his .285 average, 9 homeruns, and his .854 OPS? Whoever said that about Avi, not looking too smart right now.

There is also zero question in my head. Keep him. Don't trade him; and resign him. Why do people not appreciate Abreu? He's a great bat and clubhouse leader. Did anybody read the article that was posted on here last week and 2016 about Adam Eaton and Frazier, LaRouche and all that drama. A quality clubhouse matters. Guys like Abreu keep that stuff away. Plus he is our best player: an all-star last year and I pointed this out before: MLB.com listed the 100 best players in baseball and Abreu was the only White Sox listed. He is our best player. Why is it that people don't want to start winning sooner rather than later? Here's a crazy idea: you win with good players, not prospects in the minors who may or may not make it to the majors in three or four years. Can we stop all this flipping our good players for prospects BS. Also, don't trade Colome either. He's 9 for 9 in saves. Once again, why would we want to trade that, again, for a prospect who might or might not make it to the majors in two or three years? The Soria trade worked out so well. Medieros is NEVER going to see a minute in the majors; he stinks. Trading Soria cost the Sox at least three wins last year. I know that's only a few more wins, but again, I like it when the Sox win; don't like it when they lose. Losing 97 games last year would have been a ton better than losing 100, losing 100. Now some people say, but Soria was going to be a free agent. Yes, he was. Like we should do with Abreu, the Sox should have then have resigned Soria. Just pay him the money. Would you rather have Soria or Herrera in the bullpen right now?

I'm a northwest Indiana resident and want to go down to Indianapolis to watch Charlotte play the Indy Indians. Of course I want to see Cease pitch. Does anyone know the Knight's rotation or where I can look it up so I can plan what night to go down? Thanks for your help.

Why Castillo and not McCann? It's ridiculous, like we are trying to lose on purpose. Does Lopez request Castillo? McCann should be playing at least five times a week over Castillo. He is so clearly better than Castillo, both offensively and defensively. It's like people on here say, are we tanking and trying to lose on purpose? Unless Lopez feels more comfortable with Castillo, it makes no sense at all.

Negativity or reality? I'm a big fan and try to be optimistic; I would say I'm often too optimistic with the White Sox most of the time. But come on. I think it is much more realistic that the Sox only win one game on this trip than win four. For starters, we're missing a starter!! And that unknown TBD pitcher is pitching twice on this road trip, AT Houston and at Minnesota. That sounds like 0 and 2 on the road trip right there.

I'm not very optimistic, not with our starting pitching the mess it is right now. The road trip is seven games, right? So I expect the White Sox to go 2 wins and 5 loses. I would okay with that. Not happy, but not totally pissed off. I'd be very happy with going 3 and 4.

Say it is only for a month and a half so far, but still, I believe 100% that if we had Avi now instead of paying the same money to Alonso, the Sox would be over .500 right now. Now you can say that it doesn't matter because it's early in the season or this is still part of the rebuild years, so wins don't matter. But you know what, call me crazy, but I like it when the White Sox win games. I want the White Sox to win more games than they lose. I know, many people on here keep saying that rignt now wins don't matter. I know, I know. It's crazy that I want the Sox to win more games than they lose. Even if, so far, only a month and a half, having Avi in RF with his .877 OPS (Only McCann has a better one on the Sox right now) and having his bat (instead of watching Yonder ground out time after time into the shift) would give the Sox two more wins this year, over .500. I know it's only two more or so wins, but that's two time I'm not pissed off and two more times instead of anger, I am happy. Call me crazy, but that appeals to me.

Wow, a good outing from Medeiros. Only 1 run in five innings. He has too many walks, but a very solid outing. Is that his best all year? It seems like every time he pitches, he's getting hit hard.

Is he really hurt or is it a BS excuse. The last time he got shelled it was he was tipping pitches. This time the excuse is gonna be a bad shoulder. I am starting to question this guy's mental toughness. As an old basketball coach, it reminds me of the player who misses an open layup and for some reason is limping back on defense. "It's not my fault I missed that bunny. My knee (or ankle or whatever) gave out for a second.

A couple million more than we're paying Nate Jones? Probably not even that much. A three million more than what the White Sox are paying Jon Jay? First of all, Eloy is an outfielder. All you guys who were going nuts to bring him up right away, the major concern with keeping him in the minors was his outfield defense. We want that monster bat (we all hope) in left field. It's relatively easy to find a good bat at 1st base. We're just gonna have to be patient with Eloy in the outfield. He is aging. All the White Sox players are aging. Do you believe that he's really 34 and not 32? Do you believe that? How do you know he's in decline? He's got 9 home runs already this year. Again on his way to 30 or more. I know he didn't get 30 last year, but that was the definition of a freak injury: What was it? Something like an infected in-grown hair. It seems to me he has somehow survived that is okay this year. And yes, he's up for a new contract. So, let's sign him to a new contract and pay him because he is our best player. Everybody on this board had a shit-fit because the Sox wouldn't pay Machado 30 million a year for 10 years. But those same people don't want to pay Abreu 15 million a year or so the next two years? And are we really motivated to bring up Gavin Sheets with his 3 home runs and .235 batting average (or his 6 total home runs all of last year) in AA, or catcher Collins with his .256 average and 7 home runs in AAA to replace Abreu?

This is an interesting idea, but it would have to be a pretty significant "discount". I'm not ready to write him off completely, but I am getting there very quickly. I would say the odds are less than 50% (if he gets TJ surgery) that he is even a decent pitcher. The Sox just took that gamble to the tune of $4.65 million that Nate Jones could bounce back from his continual injuries and now that looks like totally wasted money. Maybe something with a few years but really cheap and loaded with incentive clauses. Wow, when you think about the money wasted on Jones and the Machado bubbies, Hahn has really pissed away a lot of money this year.

Abreu leads the team in RBIs; he's 3rd in the league. Next RBI guy on team isn't even close. You could argue he is the MVP. I would agree that others have been more valuable so far. But as I said in an earlier post. He was the White Sox only rep on the all-star team last year. Also, this spring MLB.com listed the top 100 players in baseball, and Abreu was the only one listed from the White Sox. You can argue that he hasn't been the most valuable so far. But the odds are by the end of the year, he will be one of the top two or three. I would bet Abreu against any one individual on the Sox you would want to name . And this does not even take into account his value as a club house leader. So again I ask: Why would we want to trade our best player; especially for a "B- prospect" who will probably never see the majors. That trading Abreu keeps coming up on this forum I am completely unable to understand.

I've seen this on MLB.com twice: Manny B. says that he was tipping his pitches the second time through the order against Boston, implying that's why he was hit so hard. Do you think that's true? I sort of believe it. It seems so strange to me that someone could have such good success and then everything completely fall apart. It seems like there has to be some reason how things could so quickly change so completely.

Someone said this last week: We do we keep talking on here about trading our best player? It's just silly.

Can we quit with the trade/flip Abreu stuff? We had one all-star last year: Abreu. In the preseason, MLB.com listed the 100 best players in the Majors; Abreu was the only White Sox player on the list. Can we stop with dumping, arguably, our best player for some prospect we won't see for three years or so. Hopefully, the window to winning starts next year or 2021. Really, we're gonna roll the dice on Collins and dump Abreu?

I knew somebody would bring up the World Series win last year. But OmarComing beat me to my counter-reply. I was going to make the exact same claim: The Red Sox would have won the division and playoffs to World Series without Sale. He didn't do much of anything in the post season.

Do people remember last year, when people, especially Red Sox people, were saying that the White Sox really got taken in that trade. I know many Red Sox fans were smirking about that trade. Well, with the Moncada we have this year, and the Sale that Boston suddenly seems to have, this trade looks pretty good to me right now. Also, remember we got Kopech, Basabe, and Diaz also in that trade. So even if Sale were completely healthy for a long time onward, I never felt that the White Sox were taken by any stretch. Of couse, Moncada was the important one in that trade, and (I know it's early, but) he's looking awfully good right now. I guess that old saying that you have to wait a few years before you can ever judge a trade is being proved true. But the scales are tipping in favor of the White Sox with that trade now.

Did you see the clip of Ozuna of the Cardinals trying to take away a home run last night? He literally climbs the fence/ wall and stays up there by holding on to the top of the wall with his right arm holding onto the wall and on the other side of the wall. https://www.mlb.com/news/marcell-ozuna-climbs-wall I know he didn't catch the ball and fell back onto the field, but . . . I think that this is should be illegal and if a guy catches a ball in this manner, climbing a wall like that, the batter should be awarded the home run. I'm okay with fielders jumping up and reaching over the wall. I'm also okay with fielders putting a foot on the wall/fence and pushing off to get higher and over the wall. But when a fielder literally climbs the wall, and holds on standing on a section of the wall or fence. That should be illegal and the batter awarded a home run whether the fielder catches or even touches the ball. When I saw him in the video up there waiting for the ball, it reminded me of the Bugs Bunny video where Bugs goes up the flag pole and throws his glove to catch a home run. An outfielder should have to stay in the field of play, and when a fielder climbs a wall and hangs on to the top of the wall (I know the wall is in the field of play) but is the top of the wall in the field of play, and either way, holding on up there breaks the spirit of the idea of a player staying in the field of play. Do you agree or disagree; what do you think?

I think he did exactly what the announcers are saying he did; I agree with them. But it's tough. I am far from confident. But that type of act (dropping the bat there) is pure Manny Machado. I was never in love with the Sox signing him. But now that we missed, I glad. I don't want to cheer for an A-hole.
