100% agree on those 3. Cease and Dunning for hopefully 2+ years of control preferably and everyone else should be tradable for rentals outside of Jared Kelley added to your untouchables.

The Cubs rebuild went very similar...and they had a "suprise" good team a year early and won the world series the next season. Sox had their surprise year in 2020 and 2021 should be all in with one more starter, right? What is holding them back since every position player is basically locked in.

yeah, I think him being a #5 by end of season with kopech slotting into the playoff rotation would be my expectation and good case scenario. Gio/Lynn/Keuchel/Kopech could be a pretty great playoff rotation if they all are clicking.
-
Why not both? Lynn and Quintana...and that still leaves enough cash for a good RF. Giolito Lynn Keuchel Quintana Kopech/Dunning or Cease depending which of Dunning or Cease would be traded for Lynn. Could you get Lynn for Stiever/Dalquist or Thompson /mid tier prospect? That would be the ideal scenario, but leaves a major log jam at SP if they signed Q.

I wonder if all the vaccine advancements has really changed perception on next season. It has to be encouraging owners that at least the 2nd half of the season will have fans and they are more willing to take risks. Encouraging indeed!

Thanks for muting me. Now I don't need to have you personally attack me again. Why the hostility? I never have once attacked another poster, how is this cool? And I am sorry that I have an opinion, as you have stated on many posts...I thought that is what message boards are for.

I think this is going to be the week of activity. All of the feeler calls and low offers were thrown to agents pre thanksgiving, and this week with the 12/2 non tender deadline teams will understand what is really available as far as bargains/reclamations/value potential has opened up. 12/3 will be hot stove heavy.

What do you mean? You think rodon's wife's opinion matters? I'm confused why this is the worst you've read when 1/3 of the posts are believing some food themed twitter post has any grain of truth.

He will be so motivated to prove last season was an outlier. That is why I think you go hard for this deal. Also as said...he can play some 3rd base as well which gives the team a ton of flexibility. This move still allows Colas to be the long term RF if that deal works out and gives the Sox the best offense in MLB for a go for it season next year and a year to really figure out their payroll with Starters. Worst case...Pederson will be available next season anyways after his one year prove deal he gets somewhere this season.

Carlos Rodon's wife is what is wrong with professional sports. Who cares what some over pampered wife thinks on social media? Your husband sucks and will be lucky to get an MLB offer at this point. Please pipe down.

Yep, my wet dream of that went away the second the Wilpons lost control. the Mets are going to be a PROBLEM the next couple offseasons with this guy pulling the purse strings.

Please...for our sanity...can we get a real rumor? I may need to take a few days off with all this twitter garbage posting.

one year, 15 million for that type of playoff production is a very good deal for the Braves.

Interesting thought: What if you trade for a SP - Snell, Marquez, etc, and feature Vaughn...with the plan to Sign Springer, Colas and move Eloy to DH or First in 2022? Colas becomes LF of future, you have all-stars in Center and RF and you get Eloy the hell out of the OF. Is that possibly the best possible solution to future proof the team and get the #1 or #2 you absolutely need?

A lot of it is fallout from the early pull. Several insiders reported that he was considering asking for a trade...he was that upset. Also his trade value will never be higher...and the Rays exploit that better than any franchise...hence why you stay the hell away.

Darvish has been great since his injury issues. He had some some nagging stuff in '18 and beginning of '19. When healthy...he is elite, top 20ish every year. One thing to note with him. Like many near ace starters...he has one or two starts a year that are duds and totally ruin his numbers, but all the stat stuff that matters is above average every year.
-
I still wonder what it would take for Zac Gallen. Of all controlled starters he is the one that intrigues me most. I know It would be a ton...but he is a guy worth Kopech + imo.
-
That workload sounds high. Will he be on like a 4-5 inning limit as a starter? I want him in the bullpen for playoffs for sure...but won't he be over 120 innings by then?
-
I would love that LaRussa thought highly of him from his DBack's days and had Katz look at some video to see if he found anything mechanics wise to fix and unlock potential...but they aren't that functional yet, right?
-
Buying a RF and LF in a mediocre outfield market...pass for me. I hope Darvish can happen though.
-
imagine wanting to trade a cornerstone of the rebuild and a perennial HR crown candidate...for not even the best pitcher on the Brewers staff. Woodruff or bust from the Brewers...even then I don't do Eloy for anyone, unless they are a top 10 pitcher in MLB with 3+ seasons of control.
-
Could go after DJLM. Also...this probably guarantees they sign Realmuto...so springer should still be in play.
-
Question...he doesn't get paid the 24 mil...but are the Mets still on the hook for the 24 mil to count against cap? I am not sure. The one positive about it is now they need to spend a bunch of money on a second baseman amongst other upgrades.
