The excitement on this pitching staff this offseason was so sky high. I was one of those guys for sure. But after the Kopech Opt-Out, Reylo's Disaster start (injury) and today, what do the Sox have to quickly turn around? Gio is obviously in the Rotation out of necessity, but realistically do they have any option other than Detwiler? Or do they just go with Cease every 5 and deal with another developmental season?

He's not my pitching coach. I would like the team to make it through a first inning without giving up a homerun in even 50% of the games. Pitchers should not be this far behind hitters and that is unacceptable at this point.

Exactly. Defense alone warranted him as the starter. And having him spend over a week at Schaumburg was a hand slap for "did nothing in summer camp"? Good lord, why is anyone defending time manipulation? It's BS, and hopefully the next CBA ends it for good.

They have made it CLEAR they didn't want to compete this year. The second Madrigal didn't make the squad this become a "developmental" season.

If Marlin's miss two weeks, how can the league recover? You cant have some teams playing 60, with others playing 50-55 games due to cascading cancellations. Dang

I've calmed down and content with Cease and Rodon going forward. Cease should have been the #3 and that is what made me so upset. The #3 spot is a literal black hole right now. Gio or dunning or Lambert are the only possible solutions and I don't like any of them in that spot. Really hoping they can reorder and put cease as 3 and Rodon as 4.

Can they just mercy rule this game? Seriously. Need to save up the bullpen for Cleveland and keep injuries at Bay.

This is one of those lineups that seems so bad, we all will overreact and they will score 8 runs.

Looking at Dobnaks stats in the minors...he has solid control and rarely gives up homeruns. Going to have to really string together some good hit and runs and keep the line moving against him.
