Nats just signed Dozier for 1 year/ 9mil. The Harper focus is gonna be strong soon for Phillies (Saturday) and now Nationals having their lineup set minus Harper.

I actually remember hearing that Yankees were like 5 years 150 or so (rumors) so this actually would be 50 million more. I just can't see Phillies coming in under 250-275 though.

what this says to me is that before ownership flies to vegas, they know they have one last chance to grab Manny before he picks between the yanks and Sox. That is a very good thing, as resolution should be soon and would require Phillies to put out a huge offer by tomorrow, before trying to land Harper. Also, if Sox or Yankees sign Manny before saturday...Boras will be feasting on those desperate Phillies...would love to be a fly on the wall.

It makes a lot of sense if the Sox are offering 7/270ish...with the back pocket being 8/300 if Lozano plays the "need to up the ante" rhetoric. That deal is still market value and only pays up until age 34 season...which still should be very productive for his bat.

Agreed. But pitching should be their top priority. Their infield is pretty dang solid. They are projected to win like 98 games after winning 100 last year. Crazy.
