He would be a dream acquisition. Playoff experience, amazing production and you move Yo to RF where he would be pretty great. Solves all the issues other than catcher. But at that price it won't happen.

Strasburg Grandal Will Smith Ozuna- if miss out try to trade for joc pedersen and put in RF Trade a package of Collins/Vaughn and minors starter for Pederson or RF. This allows Abreu/Eloy to DH when needed. This strengthens every position of need and no deal other than strasburg would require more than 2-3 tops.

Can't they do better than covey at this point. To be this far in the season and covey and detweiler getting starts is absolutely a black eye on Hahn.

If I remember correctly...eloy was a bit of a slow starter in AA and AAA before really mashing. I think his last month is starting to show adjustments...and he did have some nagging injuries so he deserves a bit of slack. His defense though...BAD.

tool or not...he is good in the outfield, can hit and is left handed. the options on that list for left handers is vomit inducing. this team needs a lefty pretty badly. like I said...price will be too high, but I really can't think of a better "need" fit.

Adam Eaton...would actually be a great fit. Cost would be too high I'm sure.

This is why he needs to leadoff to start his career. With starters trying to establish their fastball the first 2 batters every game, it should allow him that Soriano style leadoff HR threat. While this will not be his endgame and his final role in the lineup...I think it will maximize his FB hitting ability and gain confidence right away in the league.

I have a hope that Cease is going to be good in this league...but so far the results are not very encouraging. The FO MUST sign 1-2 elite or star level pitchers this offseason or this entire rebuild is going to hinge on hopes that Cease/Kopech/Lopez can figure it out. That is too many variables for my comfort level.

So catching position could be set for next 4 seasons. I like that.

I am conflicted on Grandal. Love his bat. Love adding a star catcher with Vet experience...but Collins really needs a fair shot. If his recent raking is the final adjustment he needed to make, him/McCann make a great pairing, we get another lefty presence in the lineup and Abreu/Collins/Vaughn all can jump between 1B/DH for the next 2-3 seasons. Vaughn is the one that makes me think Grandal is not needed, as his bat will work it's way up by next Fall IMO. They should commit to 1-2 star quality pitchers and stay home grown for all these position players. Keeps the window longer and allows a couple early signs for Moncada/Robert as an option.
