Batista mauls Edge, Punk cashes in the MITB and hits the Go To Sleep to win the World title. -
If it does blow up the Earth, I hope we have those fat-ass cruise spaceships I saw in the movie Wall-E ready to go. If I can drop just a few pounds, I could fit into one of those space recliners.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) So Cody Rhodes turned on Hardcore Holly and now sides with Dibiase? Thats kind of interesting I'd like to see it expand to the Next Generation stable they were rumored to develop. Carlito, Natalie Neidhart, DH Smith, Rhodes, DiBiase. That could be fun. -
QUOTE (3E8 @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 12:13 AM) I'm surprised it took $62 million to make the Love Guru Hey, man, dwarf jokes don't write themselves!!! That movie looks absolutely horrible. I hope to never accidentally see one minute of it.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 05:35 PM) I went down to my local theater to see Wall-E tonight and was turned away. They sold out 10 minutes before a 6:30 show time ...on a Sunday. This movie's going to make $300 million easily. $62.5 million this weekend, according to Yahoo. Solid open, top earner of the weekend.

Not a video, but it is hilarious and stupid, so I say it qualifies: http://www.holytaco.com/2008/06/27/the-dou...age-in-history/

Took my daughter to see Wall-E yesterday. It was entertaining. Story was OK, visually pretty great for animation. The first half of the movie basically plays out like a silent film, which is kind of a welcome relief. It doesn't lose the kids, though, despite having no dialogue. It's a nice enough movie for kids.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) every time Jim Edmonds does bad, he is injured. Every time he does good, he is completely fine. It did look like Edmonds' bat clipped him on the heel on the follow-through of his swing.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) Critic, wasn't it creepy when Warrior told the little girls to "Take it off"? Even though he was referring to his ring coat. Hmmmm.......my mind didn't travel that road, Bri....... -

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) Warrior's return match. Ugh. NWE: Ultimate Warrior VS Orlando Jordan Uploaded by BonefiedKilla Here's my review: I chuckled when the horrible Orlando Jordan appeared. I laughed when his valet couldn't figure out the complicated technique of entering and exiting the ring. I laughed harder when Warrior appeared in his OWN outfit. I about lost my s*** when Warrior ran to the ring like a cat running across bubble wrap. ....then the match started....and it wasn't funny any more. Things got sad and pathetic and old and sloppy and winded and basic and slow and awful immediately. And the finisher.....a shoulder block? REALLY? Although if anyone can be pinned with a shoulder block, it would be Orlando Jordan. If Warrior has any pipe dream of being hired by TNA or (here comes the laughter again) WWE, he'd better make sure all copies of the tape of this match are burned, gathered up, burned again and then buried in a burning coffin. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) Does "Uber" mean "not"? I think she looks a little like Daisy from Rock of Love II. That ain't a compliment, folks. "The house is in good shape, but the wife's a fixer-upper" EDIT to add that she must've met that girl in the red top at the plastic surgeon's waiting room....nice plastered-on forever-smile.....

11-0 now. ....but remember, they looked bad heading into last weekend.... They're a different team on the road, though. I wonder who they'll DH this weekend. Maybe use Soto a day or two as DH to give him a break from the crouching?

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 07:38 PM) Smackdown is going to be the show to watch for me. That's the idea. New network = big show, and I don't mean Paul Wight. -
Anybody see Jay-O's column today trashing North? Proof positive that Jay's house has no mirrors. Since Jay is too much of a coward to allow the Sun-Times' website to post a contact link after his columns: Hey, J.O. - I read your column for once, and the irony is too rich to ignore. Mike North is to radio EXACTLY what you are to newspapers. The two of you are no different. At all. In any way. Repeat, there is ZERO difference between the embarrassment North is and the embarrassment YOU are. None. Every disparaging description you wrote about Mike North applies in equal measure to you. I hope that was put simply enough to sink in.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) Smackdown gets two extra draft picks because they won the battle royal last night, right? I bet they wait on the picks and make Orton one of them. all Vince has to do to start drawing better ratings for Smackdown IMO is to make the show live. I honestly have no interest in the show when it is on. I thought Kennedy and Trips were the Battle Royal picks? -
QUOTE (Texsox @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) Then why do they "advertise" songs for free and charge to advertise a car dealer? Would they give entertaining car ads lower rates then the boring, annoying ones? They are using the music to draw an audience to the advertising they can sell. I obviously didn't mean that it's direct advertising like a car dealership ad would be. The radio station uses it as programming content, but the recording industry gets the benefit of "advertising" their product free of charge. Nobody's buying a radio station as a result of hearing a song on it, but someone may (and often do) buy a record as the result of hearing a song on the radio.
-
The Score just got better by subtraction. I'm sure they'll screw that up somehow.
-
I love how these clueless assholes consider radio play piracy and not advertising. They're so ass-backwards in so many ways. With a little forethought, they could have been far ahead of the curve regarding mp3's, but instead decided to fight the trend rather than embrace it. The demise of the recording industry would be beautiful, but unfortunately I think it'll exist in some form for a long time to come.

QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 06:29 AM) Nah, it's all just an angle to get out of the million dollar deal since he ratings are still poor. Looked very hokey. Right you are, Show: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2008/articles/1214284394.php And Brian, laugh all you want, but if you thought that sell job by Michaels was good, then it's my turn to laugh. HBK is normaly very good at selling injuries, and he sold the plasma screen shot very believably the week or two before, he just didn't sell THAT well at all. Very phony-looking and oversold. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) I was just explaining this to Slav. Marty has all the talent in the world, but I'm not counting on him even for next year. This team has to go forward assuming no Havlat and whatever we get is bonus. I'd be shocked to see him on this team come the 09-10 season. I really don't want Havlat on the team this fall. He's a very talented player when healthy, but haven't we had enough of the "when healthy" thing yet? Let someone else wonder what might have been. -

That was maybe the worst injury sell I've ever seen. Waving the arm around like a goof, making that "whuuuuhssff" noise a hundred times, but no blood and leaving his hand halfway off his eye so you can see nothing happened. That's some low-indie-grade selling right there. -
Carlin was great, and it's a loss for all fans of bitter, sarcastic biting humor. My only regret about him was when I saw him, he hadn't announced that it was basically a warmup for his upcoming HBO show. He worked off a yellow pad and re-did a bunch of bits, he was distracted and it wasn't very funny, unfortunately. RIP, George. Guess you're going to find out if "He" exists or not after all.
