Angled Seats .......... How does everyone feel about them?
The Critic replied to Hangar18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) Heh heh. Its funny, Im not as big a proponent of Green Seats as some SOX fans are, I cared more about the angle. Again, there are guys who HATE the whole blueseat thing, didnt matter all that much to me. Funny that Cincy has all red seats there Yeah, shocking. I find the whole seat thing pretty hilarious, actually. To me, a seat only matters to my big ass. I don't care about the color or the angle - well, the seat SHOULD face the field ( ) - I've had seats all over USCF and I've enjoyed the game in each of them. For the 2003 All-Star Game I had a seat that's no longer there, waaaaaaaaay up and waaaaaaaaaaay down the left-field line (section 555). Had a wonderful time, and the sight lines were nowhere near as bad as you'd believe from the hype. What I did have a problem with was that blue toilet bowl cover of a roof USCF was originally built with. I am SO glad that's gone - looking at that thing every day on the train downtown was depressing. -
Angled Seats .......... How does everyone feel about them?

QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) Was watching the game on Saturday, right at the beginning of the game, the camera is doing a Wide Pan of the park, from right to left. DJ and Hawk were commenting on the park, when DJ says its a very pretty ballpark, one of the nicer ones hes seen. Hawk mentions something about all the fans (as if to CUE the WGN cameras to find a SOX fan to focus on-they didnt) when DJ mentions that he loves how the seats down the lines, are "angled towards the pitchers mound and the infield as opposed towards the outfield" and that he really liked that, Hawked simply nodded in agreement. Did they mention the color of the seats? -
Riske's gonna make a lot of friends around here if he can bring the 1/2/3 innings regularly.

Fred has settled down. Good to see.

QUOTE(Nokona @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) Like when the Brian Anderson is on deck Why waste the rare hot day Brian's having? Now The BA (as in BATTING AVERAGE ) will come up with no one on - who does THAT help??? (is green really necessary?)

I know it's useless to complain about this, but Joey doesn't have to send everyone. I know the other side of the discussion, "make the other guy make a play" and so on, but sometimes the stop sign is okay.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) Anyone know when the Hawkism Dictionary is scheduled for release? I need to pick me one up. I have to say, Hawk has really grown on me over the years. Used to really dislike his style, but now he just cracks me up. He hasn't changed, so I must have.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) Wow, the chance of 2 posters saying the same thing are.......remote. Dick Allen is one of my favorite posters on this board.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) He has retired 7 in a row now. YAY, it's all better!!!!
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Oh, and is Riske in the park or what? I have yet to see him. And on another note, how dare those who travelled to Cincy not stay at a Red Roof Inn and use the internet to check in at SoxTalk! Chances of the Cincy contingent logging on right now are..................remote. .....I'm sorry.....

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 07:12 PM) Why am I still not comfortable with a 7 run lead and a guy who pitched 7 shutout innings in the World Championship clinching game 8 months ago. Because he's not the same guy anymore, at least not so far this season.
-
And now comes Hawk's almost daily anti-Idiotti rant.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 07:08 PM) Good news... no rain near Cincy. So, this will be an offical game come the 5th! Will this still be good news in the 5th, though?

DJ: "You're doing your best, and you still can't stop them from running." DOING YOUR BEST??? One throw to check a runner, one glance over before every pitch and a "stretch" that looks a LOT like a windup is "doing your best"????

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) I said it his last start and I'll say it again. How can anyone defend Freddy Garcia? Get in the stands with a glove? Ohhh, sorry - I thought you said "how can anyone defend FOR Freddy Garcia?"
-
Well, that's no surprise.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) Plus he throws 84 MPH so it's not like the ball is getting from his hand to the plate in a hurry either. Yep, that too.
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:29 PM) Okay, call me a newb... What Would Hippies Poke? Why Would Hippos Pike? Whats it stand for? Griffey, obviously. Who Wants Hot Pockets, of course....
-
I don't understand why everyone who gets on base against Freddy isn't stealing. He almost never throws over and he has a LONG motion to the plate. You'd think more players would take advantage of that. And of course, as I type this Lopez was running, ha!

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:20 PM) I have the feeling 4 isn't going to be enough, lets get 8. I agree, Sweaty Freddy hasn't given me that "peaceful easy feeling" very often this year. A 10-spot would be nice tonight.

I think the part of this that makes Ozzie and the Sox front office look bad is the appearance that Tracey got demoted for missing Blalock and "only" getting him out instead. Tracey was going to be sent down once the Sox acquired Riske, but it seems like the Sox sent him down out of anger. I saw on at least two sports shows that "the Sox sent Tracey down after the game, apparently for not successfully retaliating against the Rangers". Though inaccurate IMO, it does look bad.

Tigers losing > Cubs winning. I'd like to see the North side team win the next two games, but it ain't gonna happen.
-
Sad thing is, tomorrow is their best chance to win, with Carlos Marmol, a kid with (I think) 2 career starts, on the mound. What a pathetic team that is, and yet they won't fire their lame-duck, sleeping poor excuse for a manager. They get what they deserve as long as they keep Baker around. He's lost control of (and interest in) that team.

FEAR THE CHEESEPUFF!!!

QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:57 PM) To me nobody can beat Bill Cosby. He was (and still is) funny without cursing up a storm (which really can't be said about many comics these days). His stories are classic too. Like the one about going to the Dentist for instance, or the hilarious 3 part Noah's Ark bit. Just some great great stuff with him. Brian Regan doesn't swear at all, and he is f***ing hilarious! (I, however, DO swear....but I'm not hilarious.....so it all evens out..... )
