QUOTE(J-MAN @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) I suggest you get off the Eisenhower at Western - take it to 35th and ride 35th! Even better get off on Cicero to 31st and go to Home Run Inn for Pizza before the game. Or go to any of the 3,468 better pizza places instead. IMO Home Run Inn = :puke Although that pizza smell was a highlight of my Little League days.....

DAMMIT, why'd they have to go and win the World Series???? Things were so much easier when they were a second-place team every year!!!! Just thought I'd say it before someone said it and meant it.....

I bet the Tribune Company had something to do with this!!! SUUUUURE, now that the Sox are gaining popularity, make it harder for fans to get to the games!!!!! GRRRRRRR, I HATE the Tribune Company!!!!! Seriously, though, this is VERY bad news for suburban/new Sox fans who only know to take the Ryan to USCF. Between this traffic disaster and the inability of Sox parking personnel to handle large crowds, I gotta say: "I luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv my monthly CTA pass......"

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) You hated Frampton because you still have never heard Humble Pie. You will turn to liking him at one point in his life. I think that ship has sailed, my friend. There are so many bands I've yet to hear that Frampton and Frampton-related music is very very low on the list.

QUOTE(farmteam @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 02:51 PM) Of course! How else would those "Better Sex" tapes work their magic? "Hang on a sec, baby, I gotta rewind that part right there. Don't want to get it wrong and cripple you...."

QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 02:53 PM) 'Fess up, all you forty-somethings. You all had Frampton Comes Alive, admit it. My first album purchase was the soundtrack to Tommy. Why, you ask, when you could have had the actual album by The Who? I was a stupid 10 year old, that's why. I like to think my taste in music has gotten better, but it's probably only gotten different. Nope. Never had Frampton Comes Alive. I HATED Peter Frampton, in fact. At that point, it was all Kiss, Thin Lizzy, Boston, Rush and Earth, Wind & Fire ( ?? ) for me. Then came 1977, and with it the discovery of the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Clash, Dead Boys, Stranglers, et al. And everything changed for this young lad.

IN RESPONSE TO THE "RANDOM FACTS" THAT ARE BEING GENERATED ON THE INTERNET I'm aware of the made up declarations about me that have recently begun to appear on the Internet and in emails as "Chuck Norris facts." I've seen some of them. Some are funny. Some are pretty far out. Being more a student of the Wild West than the wild world of the Internet, I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It's quite surprising. I do know that boys will be boys, and I neither take offense nor take these things too seriously. Who knows, maybe these made up one-liners will prompt young people to seek out the real facts as found in my recent autobiographical book, "Against All Odds?" They may even be interested enough to check out my novels set in the Old West, "The Justice Riders," released this month. I'm very proud of these literary efforts. ~ Chuck Norris If Chuck Norris wrote this ( as opposed to a press person writing it for him ), then he loses all but 2 of his Tough Guy Points and should roundhouse-kick himself in the head repeatedly as penance.

Remember: "How's THIS For Starters?" That marketing scheme really worked out well for them. Now they're down to marketing the seasons. "Well, no matter how badly the Cubs play, it'll STILL be Summer....."

Nancy Faust will be back - Part Time
The Critic replied to Al Lopez's Ghost's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(TornLabrum @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:30 PM) I've been sitting on this waiting to hear from Nancy, but since the news is out, I'll tell you what I know. I talked to her in December, and she said that she was requesting days only for a couple of reasons: 1) the drive home late at night was starting to become a real bother to her; 2) she feels that the people who come to the park are more "her crowd." The last time I talked to her, she had sent in a counter-offer to the Sox that she felt they would accept. Apparently they did. I assume you meant to say that the people who come to the park for day games are more "her crowd"? That makes sense, if that's how it's supposed to read. To me, the canned music seems more appropriate during night games for some reason. Organ music at a day game feels like a true baseball experience. It's nice. -
So you're telling me that Chuck Norris is powerful enough to convince any woman on Earth to have sex with him, and yet he masturbates EVERY SINGLE NIGHT? Loser.....

This is something that COULD have happened to me before I had a kid. I drove like a jackass when I was younger, but now I stop when the light turns yellow. "While driving, you attempt to beat a freight train and drive around the gates. Thanks to a miscalculation on your part, the train collides with your car and crushes your body. Your car (and your lifeless body) continue to be pushed for several hundred feet until the train comes to a stop." At least the Mrs. will save money on a casket. Just scoop me into a plastic bag with a ladle and drop me into a hole.

Used to, but got kind of sick of having it there.

Kiss "Alive!" is the first album I bought for myself. I had some hand-me-downs and some albums given to me, but Alive is the first one I personaly bought. Still have it somewhere around here.

Soxtalk personal attacks policy revisited
The Critic replied to knightni's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
OOOOOOOH, the things I'd wish on you.....if only there was no Attack Policy......consider yourself VERY lucky, MISTER....... -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) I know I'm being a "dreamer" or whatever, but I still find myself wishing for the day when no one is beating anyone. Same basic feeling, worded differently. Unfortunately, greed, prejudice and hatred rule the day.

Hey, I now know why Sports Illustrated used Manning and Brady for the main cover picture instead of the World Champion White Sox. They weren't going to get the chance to do that for the AFC Championship game. -

The Bus left a door open. Wow. Kudos to Rothliesberger on an amazing tackle to keep the lead for Pittsburgh.
