I'd like to take this time to address the many fine Chicagoans, and Chicago-area citizens as well, who take the time and effort to keep themselves in shape. I regretfully take responsibility for skewing the average weight of all Chicagoans, and for that I, and my laughable girth, would like to SINCERELY apologize. My gluttonous intake of all snack foods, greasy fast-food meals and sugary carbonated beverages have caused you, the treadmilling, salad-eating, portion-conscious folks, to be lumped ( no pun about my general shape intended ) into a category which you have worked feverishly to avoid. And for that, I am truly sorry. Now, that said.....are you gonna finish that?

Honestly, this World Baseball "Classic" falls somewhere between men's college lacrosse and flag football on my "how much I care" list. My only interest in this at all is hoping no White Sox players get hurt playing in this meaningless exhibition.

Not a big deal to me. When the Sox repeat, maybe THAT will be big enough news to get the main cover photo. Unless the Manning Brothers are squaring off that week, of course......

Sloppy reporting is the result of the "Get It First, Hope To Get It Right" competition between news networks. As long as being FIRST ON THE SCENE is of the utmost importance, you will see this type of situation over and over.
