  1. The HRs are a concern for sure, but I don't mind them as much if they're solo shots. Esty HAS to cut down on the hits allowed, that's the biggest concern in my mind. Rallies are way more damaging than the solo HR, especially the way the Sox offense can score.
  2. I get more fired up seeing that HUGE smile after another White Sox Winner! SHINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I was 16 years old, watching in embarrassment as a hack DJ f***ed up a Sox game. 25 years later, I still ignore the hack DJ and I still think back in embarrassment at that debacle.
  4. SHINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, this team has ONE All-Star.....suuuuuurrrrrrrrrre............... Get rested and ready for the A's and the 2nd half, you FIRST-PLACE WHITE SOX!!!!!!!
  5. Hey, you seem to have a lot of time to be counting people's post totals...

And incorrect nitpicking at that....since it's actually Ferrell, with 2 L's....
  7. I'm stunned that the Astros are 10 and 1/2 games out right now. Simply amazing. I know they're getting old and everything, but they have a lot of talent and it's just not translating into wins.
  8. No sweat, Steff - what's wrong is wrong, and needs to be called out. Of course, if you'd done that to her, I'd jump on you, too....
  9. Looks like a full house tonight ( Saturday 7/10 )!!! Hawk said there was a huge walkup. Congrats to the Sox fans who PACKED US Cellular!!! ...and the Cubs weren't even the reason tonight!!!
  10. The third place team in the AL Central has more All-Stars than the 1st and 2nd place teams combined. Truly and absolutely f***ed up.
  11. A while back, she had nude pictures taken for some website. Those pictures are the very definition of "10 years too late". She was incredibly hot, now she's probably just incredibly sweaty.

Thanks, CS1, that Critic s*** never gets old for me. Sad part is, the physique is closer to the truth than I'd like, but at least I got my hair!
  13. All I will add about that thread is that HSC was WAY out of line to attack Steff on the basis of her BELIEF that Steff was "baseball". Funny how she demands proof about nsuffrbl, but will spew venom with no proof whatsoever about the identity of "baseball". Seems like she had an agenda against Steff to begin with and was looking for an opening to pop off, or rather CREATED the opening herself. True or not ( and I don't CARE if any of HSC's claims are true ), she was petty and ignorant to post such things. ...but petty and ignorant is Michelle's stock in trade, I guess...
  14. The Cub fans' "it's early" talk is eerily familiar.... ...I seem to recall a certain manager of a certain South Side baseball team repeatedly telling anyone who'd listen how EARLY it still was every year.... Didn't work out then, and it's looking more and more like it won't work out now either. Although the Wild Card gives them hope.

I don't know, I was much more interested in seeing it before I saw all the painfully unfunny guest appearances Farrell did for the movie. And the more clips I saw, the less I wanted to see it, too. I'll wait for the DVD rental.
  16. Well, his family has never seen him pitch in an All-Star Game, and it will be a great human interest story... I hope Torre can look at some other roster than his own team's.
  17. Otherwise known as "OJ'ing". "I will search on EVERY GOLF COURSE ON EARTH for the real killer!!!!!"
  18. Alexander Rodriguez looks REALLY weird to me! Yeah, I agree about the K-Rod thing, but it seems to work for him. HR-Rod wouldn't really work for anybody.
  19. Hope Prince doesn't have Daddy's propensity for girth. Cecil got BIG as he went along....but don't we all? Or....don't I all, anyway??
  20. K = strikeout he strikes guys out? That's all I could come up with...I think I heard that was the reason.
  21. You do have to wonder what difference the 7 players could have made on the DBacks season, though. That's a lot of guys to deal for one, and when the one guy you get back goes down, it's obviously going to shine a negative light on the short-term of the deal. Sexson's abilities notwithstanding, it was a great trade for the Brewers.
  22. I understand that position and agree to a point, except to say that if I happen to go to a clunker or two or three, if I think the team is still playing hard and not loafing, then I'm still going to more games regardless. You can never guarantee an exciting game or a Sox win, obviously, so the end result doesn't usually affect whether or not I attend a game. Boring style of play ( SlackHawks ) or continued indifference - or worse - toward the paying customer and/or potential paying customer ( SlackHawks ) WILL keep me from attending games. That said, I restate my position that a day or night at the ballpark is VERY hard to top for me. Absolutely love everything about it, from people-watching before the game to the game itself to discussing the game afterwards. ALL great. Just a quick question and NOT a jab of any kind: If the Sox had battled back to tie the Angels TWICE but lost in extra innings, does that mean that you would not be going on Saturday?
  23. You said STFU. What's the difference? :headshake
  24. That logic doesn't apply as much this year to the Sox, thankfully. It's nice to see the walkups, though.
