Yeah, I agree. It's worth a shot, and the worst-case scenario is that you STILL get to see White Sox Baseball! Win/Win Situation!

I think it's a hard thing to figure out precisely. A lot of variables go into it, such as how you were developed as a pitcher, your genetics, and other things. I think pitch counts have become gospel and that's understandable, since so much money is invested in players now. Every team gets guys for specific situations like middle relief, lefty specialists, closer, etc., so the starters are geared for 6 innings now. Even the "quality start" stat is geared to a 6-inning start.

Can't say for sure, but my guess would be that they'd be more agreeable to upgrading tickets than downgrading them. I know that when you get "discount" or promotional ticket vouchers for UD seats, you can upgrade them at 1/2 price.

Tigers and Injuns are only 4.5 games out of first right now. Right now, their fans have to be saying the same thing that Sox and Twins fans are saying: "Lots of games coming up with divisional rivals" "Take care of our own business and we're right in it" "Maybe ownership will get that missing part at the deadline" This could end up being MUCH tighter than anyone expected. Four team race, anyone?

That's something that would have to be discussed with him before the deal is made. Let him know that barring any unforeseen emergencies, he's the DH. If he seems to have a problem with that, you don't do the deal, simple as that.

Just saw on SportsCenter that Heatley was indicted on vehicular homicide charges. ( Pretty sure he siad "homicide", and not "manslaughter", but I could be wrong ) Allegedly was driving between 60-90 MPH in a residential area at the time. Former Wolves player Dan Snyder was killed in the crash, for those who may not recall. No maximum sentence on this charge, so the judge would have a lot of leeway if it got to sentencing.

JURASSIC CARL 2 "This time, it's PERSONAL!!" Carl's attitude here last year was fine, and as long as Oz keeps him out of the outfield, and ESPECIALLY if the price is low enough, I like this move.

Agree 100%. If someone disobeys an order to stop and endangers innocent people, I have zero pity or concern for them. I hope this lawsuit is laughed out of court.

Disagreement is the spice of life....especially when you're wrong.... I'm not a huge fan of theirs, but I enjoy an Oasis song here and there. Wouldn't buy a CD of theirs, but might go to see them live, if only for the chance to see onstage sibling fisticuffs! Onstage Sibling Fisticuffs!!!!

but is it still deferred if he gets traded????

To kinda play devil's advocate, I'm sure Baker didn't overrule the medical staff, Hendry, etc., to get Prior back on the mound. They seemed to play it sort of safe with him, and I'll bet anything that given his competitive nature, Prior was probably saying that he was feeling better and ready to go. Dusty overuses guys, that's pretty much undeniable, but a return from the DL involves a lot more people than just him.

YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH WE'VE READ ABOUT THIS!!! HOW DARE YOU ASSUME SUCH THINGS!!!!! That "agent" ( or, svengali ) seemed to have an unnatural hold on the kid. What a sad, bizarre story...
-
I see that Trader Jim is holding a 2pm presser. Gotta think the worst about this - TJS, I'm guessing. Do you think the Cubs try to sweet-talk Randy Johnson into getting them back on his list if Prior's done for the year?
-
Heard on Mike & Mike this morning that Randy Johnson has whittled his wish list of teams down to two: The Spankees The Cardinals Since the common belief is the Cardinals have no room to take on RJ's remaining salary, that leaves one team..... SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE.

I hear that they got all kinds of new-fangled things in Wisconsin now! I hear tell that they got buggies that don't need horses, and magic pipes where WATER comes out ALL BY ITSELF, and they got these thangs you kin stick up to yer ear an' hear people from faraway lands, and EVERYTHING! ...I hear now that you don't even have to dig a hole out back to go to the toilet anymore up there!!!!!

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Feller's surely in the minority on that one, though. Personally, I just find it kind tough to watch him now, having seen him fight in the 70s.

My vote goes to Obla Di Obla Da (sp?) I hate that calliope s***. Run For Your Life is a pretty close second, and almost anything sung by Ringo can go there too. ...and for the record, while slightly off-topic , I like the song "Wonderwall"....on the few occasions that Oasis was good, they were VERY good....

See, THAT's what happens when untalented people attempt to imitate Sox N Roll! Please, people, we REALIZE there's a giant void left behind by the Masters Of The Drunken Vulgar Sox Game Audio, but do NOT try to re-create the ANGRY MAJESTY of Sox N Roll! SNR > SAP

Certainly MUCH better than that awful rag they were giving away outside of Wrigley during the Sox/Cub series. It was called The Heckler, and it was sophmoric and obvious. WOW, they're making white trash and attendance jokes - HOW ORIGINAL.

I like the idea of 1/2 price nights, but it does seem to lure the asswipes out of the woodwork. There are other ways to save a couple of bucks on tickets, as we've mentioned here before, so if you REALLY want to go to a game for cheap ( as opposed to wanting to go to USCF to start s*** with Sox fans ), there are avenues to explore. Brooks can ( and I'm guessing he WILL ) do a better job of making those avenues better known to Sox fans, through the website, direct mail, etc. I think Brooks is doing a damn good job so far - he already is making the memory of Rob GallASS fade from my head.

If I had some crappy ESPNZone sweatshirt or something, I would clean up after myself, but since I don't, I'll just wait for it to dry up and then peel it off the floor.....as usual....
-
Oh my God, what a f***ing STUPID start to this show!!! Everybody looking for the tapes of the Web Gems - "I gave them to Harold", "They're right under the desk, don't let me forget them".... :puke :puke :puke :puke :puke ....embarrassing....
-
I don't know about Metra or anything else, but the CTA Red Line runs VERY close to USCF, like a 2-block walk. Very convenient.

I have to split this in two: My favorite play was not one that a Sox player made, but it helped the Sox pull off that AMAZING 9th inning comeback. Ben Broussard fighting that wind-blown pop-up and LOSING the fight kept that rally alive! My favorite play by a Sox player is every time Shingo throws the Frisbee. I LOVE that pitch! So pick your own favorite Frisbee, and THAT's my favorite play of the first half.

The noise from the ass has to be less annoying than the noise from the face...
