  1. Not really interested in another slow-footed 1B, especially one who's older than the one the Sox currently have.
  2. I don't really think so. I think the few MPH he seems to have lost, coupled with the fact that opposing hitters are trying to lay off the cutter more often, have more to do with E-Lo's struggles. That said, he is still battling and working hard, so I'm not going to dog him.
  3. I'll be there on Saturday the 21st with my nephew - he's a huge Cub fan but a good kid nonetheless and not a Sox hater. Hope to get a bobble, but not a geek about it.
  4. Hawk's an acquired taste, for sure. I don't think an occasional viewer would like him at all, but to someone who watches a lot of Sox games he just becomes part of the experience. Pat Foley's still my favorite local broadcaster of any sport - I liked it when he was paired with Bill Gardner. Dale Tallon is a clueless Ron Santo-esque homer, and no one else they paired Pat with worked for me.
  5. The one time I met you, you didn't hardly roll your eyes at all....
  6. I blame Frank for that loss. If he hadn't ALLOWED his foot to be broken, he'd have hit a couple of bombs and "WE WIN THAT GAME"!!!!! How 'bout blaming nobody, and realizing that no one is going to get the job done every time? That seems reasonable....no?
  7. Agreed. He has zero credibility because of his blatant personal dislike of Reinsdorf. This is rare, but I agree 100% with Juggernaut's assessment/opinion of USCF. It's a beautiful ballpark and a GREAT place to enjoy a baseball game.
  8. It's a small town where no one owns their home, they just lease it from someone else who rented it before them..... ....OK, I'm sorry.....
  9. I can't wait for that guy to get to Chicago. "LOOOOOOOOOOO-SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!'

    Reno 911

not a fan. didn't like The State or Viva Variety, either, so maybe their style just doesn't click with me.
  11. I think eventually carry-ons will be limited to infant care items, newspapers/magazines and perhaps food items. I have no problem with that - my "civil liberties" are not as important to me while I'm in an airplane as landing safely is. That's a scary story right there, and I'm surprised that none of the marshals did anything to stop it sooner.
  12. They coulda had Paulie and a pitcher ( minor-league variety ) last winter for Mota and Perez, but NOOOOOOOOOO..... I'm glad the Sox didn't make that trade, by the way - I'm happy with PK's year thus far.
  13. If anyone was in the general vicinity of where I was one afternoon last week, please contact me by ESP to confirm that someone else heard or saw what I allegedly believe to have heard or seen....
  14. Hicks was one of the best, I was lucky enough to see him perform twice. He could be off his game at times for some reason, bad mood or whatever, but even then his anger came through as really funny thoughtful stuff. I don't think Leary steals Hicks' act, he just has a somewhat similar style. Jay Mohr strikes me as a touch bitter and jealous.
  15. It's too bad for them, Mauer is a hell of a player. I'd much rather see the Sox face LeCroy than Mauer, but I feel bad for the kid. 2 DL stints this year already.
  16. exactly right. I guess a big lead gets folks channel-flipping.
  17. So you're saying he's a fan favorite over there???
  18. Two words: Ron. Santo. As long as Santo gasps for air on a radio station, Farmer can be no closer than 2nd place. Mark Grace is giving Santo and Farmer a run for their money, though - he sounds like the Bears radio people during the Dan Hampton/Hub Arkush era. Yelling, laughing, everything but analysis. A lot like Santo, actually...
  19. Wouldn't be the first time KW obtained the wrong guy with a similar name....
  20. It's a regular newspaper, formatted a bit like the Tribune, and it's available mainly on the SOUTH side of TOWN....
  21. I like them......LIKE..... I'm not crazy about them, by any stretch, but they do a decent job and I enjoy the broadcast.
  22. I don't know how I feel about that....really, I don't....
  23. "Earthquake Swallows Up Jermaine Dye, Allowing Game-Winning Hit To Drop" "In other news, Sox Acquire Everett, Deal Him To SF For Bonds, Schmidt" "Giants GM Committed To Mental Hospital After Questionable Trade" "Sox GM Williams Hospitalized With Stomach Cramps, Uncontrollable Laughter Blamed"
  24. Hopefully, two lower-level, lower-projected pitching prospects. Jurassic would help, I believe, but I really don't want the Sox to overpay for a DH.
