He probably took 62 shots to get that 50. Funny, I don't hear him complaining about how bad the team is, now that he's getting his minutes and shots. All about personal s***, I guess.....I'm not surprised....
-
I guess if he doesn't get 500 ABs he's not much use to a team. Thanks for playing our game, Brian Daubach....we have some lovely parting gifts for you backstage........

God damn, the field looks GREAT! I can't WAIT to hit the FanDeck this year!!! to the construction guys and engineers!!!
-
I don't think they can afford to, injury history or not. Woody Williams is about 70 years old, and they've got nobody else worth much. They signed Julian Tavarez, for Christ's sake! Their fans would revolt if the Redbirds dealt their ace.
-
That's good to hear. I get a little tired of hearing that the rest of the baseball world is biased against the Sox and/or complete idiots. .....even though both statements are true.....
-
I hope he finds his comfort zone soon. Gonna really need his bat this year. Not panicking at all, but we don't want this to snowball into PK2003, do we?

Good points, Capn and Tony. It is a long season, and it was good to put Takatsu into a game he couldn't possibly blow for them. I guess I was just hoping that Oz would send Jon a vote of confidence by letting him finish, that's all. But on the other hand, the vote of confidence was leaving him in to fight through the walks. I guess that's why I'm sittin' on my fat ass at home watchin' the game, right?
-
Maybe I'm greedy, but I was hoping Oz would've let Jon go for the complete game. I thought it would be a great thing for JG to CG the Spanks in their own building.

My problem was with the f***tard Cubfan wannabe who threw back Frank's FOUL BALL! What kind of dips*** assf*** moron throws back a foul ball???? .............a Spankee fan, I guess..............

Anyone Interested in Buying Thursday Tickets vs KC
The Critic replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Those are some GREAT seats, JD!! I just looked up your section on whitesox.com. I wish I could go on Thursday, but I have too many vacation days coming up and can't afford to burn any more for a while. -
Anyone hear the name Farmer was jokingly calling Koch yesterday? "The Count Of 3 and 2"! He had Rooney calling him that by the end of the inning! It was pretty funny, but ONLY because Koch ended up getting the outs....
-
They actually started off 0-9 last year, Nuke, and only started playing well once they faced the Sox. The division is going to be scrappy this year, that's for sure. ....I said SCRAPPY.....with an S.....no wisecracks from the peanut gallery....
-
They'll probably drool all over him for "owning up" to the fact that he lost, and for being a "stand-up guy" by discussing the loss with the media. That REALLY is courageous of him....he's a true warrior......ugh..... EDIT to note that at the time of this post, he actually hadn't LOST the game yet - just looking into the near future is all.....hopefully......
-
I'm surprised, but not stunned. They had three decent starters already, and added another decent arm in Jason Johnson. They added a bunch of veteran bats, and have a pretty solid lineup now. They aren't going to win the division, obviously, but imagine a 40-game jump to .500!! I'm glad to see them get off to a good start - I've always had a soft spot for the Tigers.

Early candidate for the Instantaneous Contradiction Post Of The Year!!!

I'd really like for them to consider some sort of Walk Of Fame at some point. They could do identical plaques of past Sox greats ( with career stats and highlights ) and place them along the center field concourse and new upper deck concourse. It would be a very cool touch, IMO. Certainly better than "honoring" past Sox heroes by naming concession stands after them...

Frou Frou remind me a lot of Dido. It's ok stuff if you're in that mood.

SWIPE THAT BAG, WHEELS!!!! GO KONEY!!! 50 SWIPES THIS YEAR!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

I like when everyone does PBP. Maggs has SEVEN doubles for the season already!

Look back at what's been said about Monday, and you'll see that I for one am NOT jumping off bridges or climbing onto ledges, because as bad as that loss felt, it IS only one game and that's ALL it is. The worst thing I've said is that Ozzie's quick hook sends a bad message to a guy you've declared to be your closer. ...and Estes still sucks. It also bears repeating that he's a selfish, me-first bastard who refused to work out of the bullpen for the Cubs because he "didn't even know how to warm up as a reliever". That is NOT the kind of player I want on the White Sox. Ever.
-
...until he gets another "gut feeling"? This time, I hope he lets Koch START the 9th. That way, when he gives up his customary first-batter hit, it won't let in a run!

Off the Singles soundtrack, "State Of Love And Trust" is a GREAT song. That's the ONLY Pearl Jam song I like! Re: Say Anything - SURE, they'll throw a Clash t-shirt on Cusack for "cred", but then they have him play that sappy, awful Peter Gabriel junk. Why not have him play "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" on his boombox? It still fits the theme of the movie!

Got a web address for The Warlords? I Googled them and got a f***ing AVALANCHE of geeky-ass video game sites!!!!

This is gonna be painful, but here goes: NJ v PHI - although I want Philly to win, I can't go against Brodeur NYI v TB - this won't be a huge upset considering the season series, but I believe the Islanders will eliminate the Lightning. Too bad, too, I like the Bolts BOS v MTL - I WANT the B's to advance, and they may still, but my gut feeling is the Canadiens will win the series. Thornton's injury and Raycroft's playoff inexperience will cost them, unfortunately TOR v OTT - Lalime is too shaky to inspire confidence in Ottawa. I gotta go with the Leafs. Hot goalie in Belfour and good trade deadline moves DET v NSH - the easy thing is to pick the Wings, but they've been victim to first-round upsets before, so who can tell? I'll still take Detroit to advance, since they have more scoring depth and vast playoff experience ( except maybe in goal if Legace plays - but I think Legace's better than Joseph anyway, so maybe that's a wash ) CGY v VAN - I'm going to ride the hot goalie here as well as the fact that the Canucks don't have Bertuzzi. They did win their last 7 or so games, but I think the Flames move on. STL v SJ - this is the toughest one to call for me. St. Louis would appear to have the more talented team, but they play VERY inconsistent hockey. I'll still take a chance on them in a 7 gamer DAL v COL - this series will come down to home ice, I think, so I'll go Colorado. Either team winning wouldn't be an upset, in my opinion, since Dallas is also a very talented veteran team I'll hold off on 2nd round predictions until I see who's playing then. Did I mention that THIS IS THE BEST TIME OF THE ENTIRE SPORTS YEAR????
