  1. Dude, you need to VOTE! Don't just comment. How the F any SOX fan could vote NO to this question escapes me. Perhaps I should have restricted this poll to SOX FANS planning to go the games. It looks as though we have trolls voting. :fyou trolls! Juggernaut, I DID vote....I voted No. The question was whether or not the policy would prevent me from attending games. Since I don't prefer to sit in the UD, it really doesn't. I am not going to stay home because the Upper Deck people can't walk the concourse! That said, I can sympathize and understand your frustration. It just doesn't affect me since I don't sit up there.
  2. I think it would make you feel like you're not welcome, but I like to sit in the lower sections anyway and am willing to pay the extra $$ to sit there. I think they should reconsider that, though - it just seems exclusionary to me.
  3. To me, the biggest series is the one at hand. Looking ahead = falling behind. Take care of business HERE and NOW and put the Twinks in the position of hoping to recover...
  4. I agree. Hopefully, he'll continue to progress and learn because he does seem mentally tough and he has some good stuff. If Garland continues to mature and if Wright can bring it together, that bodes well for the future of the rotation.
  5. What would the Sox' other options be if Robbie was not re-signed? Is Miles considered a 2B option, or would it be Willie Harris? Regardless, if management chooses to keep him, I'd love to see Robbie return next season. He has played hard and played a really nice defensive 2B.
  6. Well, I for one sure do hope the Sox sweep the Twinkies so we can keep this HAPPY VIBE going!!! Rodney King, people, Rodney King...."can't we all............." YOU KNOW THE REST!!! C'mon.............smile...............SMIIIIIILE................. THERE YA GO!
  7. I also have stopped caring about the LackHawks. Their lines will consist of one half-way decent scoring line and three impotent checking lines, because that's "Blackhawk Hockey".
  8. I don't think by ANY means that the Sox are above criticism. I just think that so-called experts should at least research their opinions before spouting off. It is a REPUTATION that the sox are a bad defensive team, but that is not NEARLY the case this year as it has been in the past. And I have seen as many great catches against the wall and down the foul lines as I have seen balls drop JUST out of reach. Does Torii Hunter catch EVERY ball that gets hit to his gaps? Doubt it. Not comparing our outfielders to Hunter by any stretch, but I am saying that the Sox defense has made a marked improvement this year and that should at least be noted by people like Kurkjian, and not dismissed in some throwaway line that just reinforces a previous line of thinking.
  9. Nope, today is the always exciting Housework Day!!!!!!!!!! Mowing lawn, doing laundry, vaccuuming carpets and general house upkeep... HOORAY(?)
  10. Correct, Jose has 14 errors Nomar has 16 Tejada has 17 Jeter has 12
  11. I decided to go position-by-position to see where the Sox players stacked up defensively this year, and here's what I found on espn.com: 1B - Konerko - .998 percentage - 1st in the AL 2B - Alomar - not enough GP to qualify in AL, pctg. is .985 with Sox SS - Valentin - .975 - tied with Tejada for 4th in AL, AHEAD of Nomar and Jeter 3B - Crede - .959 - 4th in AL - I was a bit surprised by the percentage, since Joe is usually labelled as the "only good infielder the Sox have" LF - Lee - .978 - 7th in AL CF - Everett - .990 - not in top 8 in AL RF - Ordonez - .993 - tied for 1st in AL with Suzuki of Seattle C - Olivo - .988 - tied for 7th in AL P - Buerhle and Garand tied with many others at 1.000 Overall, not bad numbers for the most part. I knew just from watching the games that the Sox were NOT playing bad defense this year - I have found myself FAR more frustrated by the lack of timely hitting than by defensive blunders. That's why this season had been so frustrating for so long - they were NOT doing what they were expected to do ( hit ), and doing what they were NOT expected to do ( catch the ball ).

Well, there's the class you've come to expect... Actually, it is a bit unfair to paint ALL Cub fans with the same brush. I have several good friends who cheer for the Cubs, and MOST of them are not "haters" of the Sox, and can hold enjoyable rational conversations about why their team is better in their opinions. There is a certain percentage of f***heads who ruin the reputations of any fanbase, because they're usuallly the ones talking out their asses and causing fights. The "f***tard Minority" always ruin it for decent human beings...
  13. Kurkjian talked about the Sox on Baseball Tonight, and just HAD to find a slap at them, so he says this: "They're hitting the ball now, and they have solid 1-3 pitchers - now if they can just CATCH the ball they'll be all right." Tim doesn't read the statistics on his own employer's website. If he DID, he'd see that the THIRD BEST FIELDING PERCENTAGE in the American League belongs TO............the Chicago White Sox! They're catching the ball OK, Timmy....

I woulda told the boss he can fire me, but to go f*** himself and that Im leaving. Your boss musta been an idiot. I woulda said f*** you and told everyone we gotta leave... I think part of his decision was based on just that - MANY people were just saying the exact thing you said - fire me and I'll see you in court, basically. I don't know where my mind was, but I didn't really feel like we were gonna get hit - no reason for me to think that, but I just felt that way.

    Chicago?

Not to mention the trees along Lake Shore Drive that die every year from road salt and that abomination I like to call MoneyPit Park ( but King Richard calls Milennium Park - which millenium will it be finished by?? ) Good thing the roads are so smooth and the crime is so low and the schools and public transportation are so great that he can direct money to one-year trees and grotesque statues and bridges....

I was at my company's other downtown office ( I work in the Sears Tower ) and I passed a TV. The people watching told me that a plane had hit the WTC and that the "experts" thought it was an accident. Just then we saw the second plane hit and I thought, "This isn't an accident". ( great insight on my part, huh? ) I actually went back to the Sears Tower location ( went back to get my house keys - good thinkin', huh? ) and our company's president said that there was no reason to believe that Chicago was in danger of attack, so we were to continue business as usual until further notice. ( More good thinkin', huh? ) About 10 minutes later ( and after somebody slapped some sense into the guy ), we were told to evacuate "as a precaution". I got on the train home and it was weird - nobody was saying anything, no cell phones, nothing. I was listening to news reports on the radio and just thinking how odd it was to not see ONE plane in the sky. A very odd feeling, for sure...
  17. That IS a concern. Wunsch has thrown well, so I'd go with him in a save situation, I think. That is, if neither Marte nor Gordon can go. Hopefully, the bats will see to it that only mop-up duty is necessary...
  18. You'll have nothing and LIKE IT, SIR!!!!!!!!!!!! Haven't had any problems replying tonight.
  19. He's looked good in the role of Saving Private Cotts the last couple times out, so we'll see what he can do when the game belongs to him from the jump. I feel good about Wright tomorrow...........but I'm a hopeless optimist!!
  20. I agree with this completely. ....except Ludacris is a rapper!
  21. You might not be a negative person in your "real life", but your posts here come off as very angry and snobbish. People have their own reasons for watching sports, and their own levels of happiness and satisfaction with how the Sox are doing. You tell everyone that if they don't look at things the EXACT same way as you, then they're somehow "less of a fan" or "fooling themselves" or some other nonsense. Professional sports should not, in my opinion, dictate or alter your mood in your "real life". If it does, perhaps you'd be better served by finding a hobby that has less of an impact on you. Your diversions should not cause you that much anguish or ill will. Personally, I am enjoying this season, and even if the Sox don't reach the postseason, I will remember this year for the fun stuff. If you can't do that, or choose not to do that, that's your decision....but it doesn't mean you're right. It just might be right FOR YOU. And for the record, my first season watching the Sox was 1970 - I hope that makes me ENOUGH of a fan....
  22. I personally would have prefered a throw back to '72, but the 83 unis looked pretty good. Wouldn't mind them as a Sunday suit, like the 1919s a few years ago.
  23. No, I guess we should keep waiting for the sky to fall.... Here's an idea.....how about trying to enjoy something once in a while?? Sheesh...
  24. The Sox FINALLY play some "small ball" for the winning rally and NOBODY posts about it? to the Sox hitters for knocking around a few singles and doubles to score 3 off of Denise Baez!!! and for taking up the challenge when that Minny final came in, too!! :fyou Thanks for NOTHING, Texas, you last-place lifeless assholes!!!
  25. NICE performance by Gordon tonight!!! That heater was JUMPIN'!! Good work, good win!
