Thoughts? YEAH, I HAVE SOME THOGHTS!!! WHY DON'T YOU MIND YOUR OWN F***IN' BUSINESS, PAL??????? I attribute it to the "85 and Up" theory - when the temperature is over 85 degrees, people seem to go insane. Actually, I think the frustration of the Sox season is spreading to the board. People keep waiting for the explosion, and I thought we saw it right after the AS break. When the explosion doesn't come ( or doesn't last ), the frustration sets in again. ...or maybe people are just rude?

I believe that he is "compelled" to allow those home games to be shown. It's part of the NHL's contract with the ESPN Family Of Networks. Trust me, Billy Buck would find a way to block it if he could. Besides, the Slackoffs have to PAY the Snore to broadcast their games on radio this year, so that Andy Griffith lookalike f*** would NEVER give away any TV games on his own.

Blame society - that's what we do - or maybe Marilyn Manson.
-
I agree - I mean, it's all just semantics, but "getting rocked" does bring up ( at least in MY mind ) an image of guys just pounding a pitcher - doubles, homers, like that. Cotts "couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat" the other night.
-
Agreed - "f*** anyone or anything" is actually RPS's mission statement!!
-
Agreed, and point taken as well - a few transactions could be isolated incidents, and shouldn't necessarily reflect on the entire area. Thanks for the level-headed discourse, even when your head isn't actually "level" right now.

REALLY? I have VIVID memories of "transients" laying in front of a transient hotel on Waveland, mere blocks away from the Friendly Confines, and people constantly "advising" me not to go north of Irving Park after nightfall. This was in the mid-80's, and that's why I said "was". And I saw a few "transactions" going on where my sister and brother-in-law decided to park for a recent night game, a couple miles west of the park. That's why I said "STILL IS". Sorry if you disagree, but your disagreement doesn't necessarily make the point incorrect.

If that's the case, then Marino should have seen Bruce 3 years before he did...

Break it up, BREAK IT UP!! Move along, you little perverts!!! Horny little ones these days..... and Heather, Neal needs to gain about 50 pounds or so to be a HOTTIE, no?

I have a mixed review of his mixed review. He correctly points out that the South Side is underappreciated but then buys into the exact same arguments that people make when they underappreciate the South Side. I am referring to his harping on the upper deck, in particular. I have come full circle on the UD since the All-Star Game. Make no mistake, the UD is high and steep, but it is NOT as bad a seat as the hyperbolists would have you believe. I was very satisfied with my seat in section 551, row 11. In fact, I sat in that VERY LAST SEAT up in the corner of the UD for a while during ASG BP, and if it weren't for the wind being blocked, I'd have stayed up there much longer! It was a very cool overview of the park. And the whole neighborhood thing will change when "Cellville" is created....rather, IF Cellville ever is created. I'm still waiting for that United Center neighborhood upgrade they promised when they forced all those people out of their homes a few years back. Wrigleyville was ( and the immediate surrounding area still IS ) a pretty sketchy area, with the exception of Clark Street and Broadway Avenue. And after last Saturday, I'd certainly add a point or two for the tailgating!! Maybe we shoulda invited him to Lot E, huh?

Now that it appears likely that Pete Rose will be reinstated, AND since the rumor is that he won't even have to admit to betting on baseball ( highly UNLIKELY, if you ask me ), I thought I should come up with a list of THE TOP 10 Things Pete Rose will have to admit to in order to gain reinstatement 10. Still wears tight old Reds uniform under clothes 9. Appearing at WWF pay-per-views is more embarrassing than lifetime ban 8. Met with John Henry Williams about freezing DNA - backed out when he realized you have to be dead first 7. Why the bad haircuts? You guessed it.....LOST A BET 6. Both testicles crushed by head-first slides gone wrong 5. Always thought Marge Schott was "kind of a MILF" 4. Always thought Schottzi was "kind of a DILF" 3. Finally admits that Pete Rose Jr. is actually a daughter 2. Accidentally bet on Jose Rijo to win the Kentucky Derby and the NUMBER ONE THING Pete Rose will have to admit to gain reinstatement IS..... The nickname "Hit King"???.......kinda gay..... Thank you.....thank you very much.....please tip the waitresses, they work hard.....try the veal.....I'll be here all week, two shows on Friday and Saturday......goodnight!!!!

thanks anyway - don't like Bruce - enjoy the show!

Proof? This quote, most ridiculous parts in bold, courtesy of blabbermouth.net ( bold courtesy of me ): "To me, I will not have METALLICA and a bunch of second-rate bands. It's gotta be the bands who are innovators, and whether you like him or you hate him, Fred Durst is an innovator. Fred Durst is a ****in' pioneer, and I will yell that from every rooftop. And so are LINKIN PARK." Sure, if you mean "pioneering really REALLY bad raprock"! Whatever made Ulrich's hair fall out must've also seeped into his brain. :dips***

yeah, Anne Murray is f***in HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even though I absolutely HATE dogs ( been bitten twice by psycho beasts - luckily, their dumbf*** owners AT LEAST had their shots up to date, so I didn't have to undergo the 746 rabies shots ), I would NEVER do that to an animal. ....but like the Ligue case, the dog didn't file a complaint, so the guy'll probably get probation...if they get that same dips*** judge....he'd probably bring up the "inherent violence in canine culture"...
-
Dude, you just opened yourself up to the possibility of some VERY creative picture-posting!!
-
I think Frank's a good guy. He seems a little too sensitive, if anything. Also has a knack for saying the wrong thing at the worst possible time. He'd probably be better off going the Steve Carlton "press boycott" route. Great great hitter, though...when he plays 1B.
-
I won't b****, but not for that reason. I won't b**** because I've been calling for that move for a while now, and if I complain about the move IF Frank butchers a couple of balls, I'd have to argue with myself ALL OVER THIS BOARD!!! Knowing how I can get, I'd probably get BOTH OF ME banned!!!
-
Since we have a basic difference in the "popularity = relevance" point, this is going to around in circles. I don't feel that popular = relevant or good, and you obviously do, and that's fine, but there's no point in belaboring the argument any further. To save the board from any more boredom, I'm going to halt my end of the debate. I'm honestly glad that you enjoyed their show, but I personally couldn't sit through their act anymore. I'm going to leave it at that.
-
That's not me on the left. PROVE IT! How many pale bloated sweaty irish guys would have been there? ..........oh s***...........hundreds probably.................. But we STILL KNOW IT'S YOOOOOOOUUUUUU!!! Heather could always ID you - by feel more than by sight!!!!
-
Don't sweat it, kid, there were a lot of people there acting like 12-year-olds!! You'll never feel unwelcome with this group!
-
yeah, you'll "allow someone to have their own opinion" as long as it falls in lockstep with yours. I don't begrudge anyone their opinion - I just happen to disagree. Maybe my opinion of the band formerly known as Metallica is a little harsher because I remember how great they used to be before they forgot how to write songs. If you disagree, that's fine. If you enjoy them, fantastic. Until I hear a new crop of bands using trashcan lids for drums and writing "songs" consisting of slapped-together riffs, I will still consider Pathetica irrelevant. They used to be the reason kids formed bands - I just don't think that's the case anymore. I can't imagine anyone listening to Nothing Else Matters or Unforgiven II and thinking, "DUDE! I gotta form a METAL BAND!!" ( I'd hate to hear the band that DID form after listening to either of those songs ). You can sell a lot of records and still be irrelevant - see Aerosmith, Cher, the Eagles, and too many more to name. As I said earlier, if YOU like Stanger, good for you. Sounds like s*** to me. Bad songs played poorly. BTW, whoever used the "don't criticize unless you've done more than them" argument - it is also old and tired.
-
Saw them in 83 at the Metro In 86 at the Aragon In 89 at the UIC pavilion In 91 0r 92 ( whenever that Black album tour was ) at the Horizon - not yet the Allstate Arena So NOW you will listen to EVERY WORD I HAVE TO SAY!!!! If YOU enjoy the s*** they've put out since then, good for you. It sounds like s*** to me, which is ALL I originally said. Oh, I gotta go - the FRIES are done!!! :finger
