  1. We'll still have things to discuss, no doubt about it! First-pitch fly balls, complete disregard for game situations, "questionable" managing decisions ( it is a "getaway day", so it's anyone's guess what the lineup will look like - did Brian Daubach ever play for the Twins??? )...there will be MUCH to discuss!!!
  2. I was thinking the EXACT same thing!! If I travel to St. Louis this year for hockey, it sure as f*** won't be to see the SlackHawks. ...if nothing else, at least the older players the Sox got this year still had a little left in the tank!
  3. Doubt that the lazy flyouts I've seen the past 2 nights would have gone out with a stiff breeze pushing them... Singles and Doubles score runs too, fellas....
  4. I think they ARE having fireworks on Friday and Saturday. It's apparently going to be a 40,000 person Irish wake. Tough to accept, but the Twins are, once again, the better team.
  5. Of course, none of this Garland/Loaiza flipflop "controversy" would matter if the Sox had a FIFTH guy they could feel confident in giving the ball to...
  6. This is how I see this year: AWFUL beginning FUN middle DISAPPOINTING end......(?) ( the flame still flickers dimly and has not YET been extinguished...but it IS dim... ) I don't let myself get TOO worked up about it, because after all, it IS just entertainment to me and my hobbies should NOT give me ulcers. That said, the expectations were high and the Sox only teased us with what could have been.

"574 is NOT 575, Jose....." PLAY IT, NANCY! Na Na NA NA Na Na NA NA....... JO-SE-EH, GOODBYE.....
  10. That crap is running rampant among the Cubbie Lovers at my work, too. Heard Gruntsalot say on ESPN1000 that basically he thinks it's not right that St. Louis seems to be mailing it in ( not in those words, can't remember the exact quote, but that was the gist ). He did NOT, however, seem to be bothered by the minor-league lineups of the Reds or Mets. ...excuses excuses....that's another thing Big Dust brought over with him...along with veiled threats against opponents...
  11. While I'm still hopeful and believe that this team CAN pull it off, I have to say that I really think they'll finish second. If they don't sweep this series, they'll have to be almost perfect the rest of the way, and this team has been too inconsistent to think that they could keep a hot streak for a solid week and a half. Again, I think they CAN do it, I just really don't think they will. ...and it'll probably be one of those KC series that puts the final nail in - what a lousy set of bookends for the season. Early losses to KC to set a bad tone, and late losses to KC to seal their fate. UGH.... PLEASE, Sox, prove me wrong!!!!
  12. It's a little weird at first because the fly balls are below your sight. Odd to look down at flyballs. They are NOT all that bad of seats, though - I was 11 rows up in section 556 for the ASG and was pleasantly surprised by the view. I was expecting the worst and it was a good seat and a great time. Enjoy the game!
  13. I'd need to SEE the interview rather than just read it. Sometimes, a player's meaning can be found in the tone of voice, inflections, and facial expressions. A lot of what he said looks like it could have been said in frustration or disappointment, and not so much a "me before the team" attitude. I think Garland has made some great strides this year, and I'm not eager to see him go at this point.
  14. I don't know if nervous is the right word, but I'm definitely anxious to see how the Sox respond to the challenge. This series, and especially tonight's game, is the Moment Of Truth for the 2003 season. The next 3 nights will determine how much the final week and a half will mean. Our guys need to tonight and take back what is THEIRS!!! GO SOX!!!!
  15. And just IMAGINE what a LAFF RIOT it would be if your house got extensive damage from the rain and high winds and the water left behind... ...and what YUKS it would be if some of the elderly had heart attacks and died... ...and the GUFFAWS ALL AROUND if food supplies were hampered and people didn't eat for a couple of days... ...WOW, what GREAT FUN a weather catastrophe is... BE SMART
  16. AND he gave away Rod Beck ( 20-for-20 in saves for the Padres ) then asked San Diego if they would trade him back!!
  17. Oh yea? Then how do you explain my 7-1 pbp record??? Drunken luck???
  18. That stuff is overrated. No MLB game is EVER won or lost based on the typing of a poster on a message board. If I had that kind of power, I SWEAR I wouldn't waste it on an Internet message board. I'd be out doing some SERIOUS mischief!!!
  19. I think the Sox will slap the Royals around - as the season winds down the realization sinks in that they are doomed, the Royals will get discouraged and fold. The Spankee series will be tough, but after Minnesota ( if things go well ) and KC ( WHEN things go well ), the Sox should be very confident at home vs NY. Funny what a good performance against a good team will do for your mood, sin't it??? Beg to differ, but KC is well known as a team that just keeps coming at ya. Theyre not folding. I have my hopes, you have your opinion. We shall see. A team that runs on emotion like that CAN fold up when the rainbow fades. That's what I think will happen. Again, we shall see. Could be wishful thinking, so what?

  21. I agree, both Alomars should stay. Sandy will help develop Olivo and gives you a good reliable backup catcher. Two years for Robbie does not bother me AT ALL. After all, I have SEEN D'Angelo Jiminez...and it was NOT good. I have seen Willie Harris....and it was NOT good. ALOMAR BROTHERS MUST STAY!!
  22. GREAT JOB by Colon and Buerhle to bring this series home! NOW carry this over to the BaggieDome, and TAKE COMMAND. 2 of 3 is a MUST, a sweep would be GOLDEN!!! I'm telling you, the Sox are NOT going to get much help from Cleveland and Detroit, but if they take care of their business, they won't NEED any! For the Series Win over Boston....
  23. ( sound of wind whistling through empty buildings as tumbleweeds roll by ) Soxnbears01: "Hello? ( hello? hello? ) Anybody here? ( here? here? )" ( Uncomfortable silence ) Sorry dude, I don't have any at all, much less extras.
