  1. Governments fault; they decided that we shouldn't be allowed to play online. I thought it would just be a short hiatus, but here we are 13 years later and it's still not legalized on a federal level. Unreal.
  2. I am absolutely blown away that you're 30 or younger. In 2008 I was 21 living the dream; was playing cards online and traveling the country/world taking my friends along for the ride. Was at the blackout game as well. Now I'm just another working schmuck grinding away a desk job.
  3. If anything, the injury gave them a reason to stretch him out and limit his appearances. If they were really contemplating it, the timing was perfect for them because it would take him 3-4 weeks to get ramped up and by then he'd be available for them late in the season as many had thought was the plan.
  4. Yeah, I wish they would have pushed for home field because I think it matters, but it was quite obvious Tony wasn't going to do that so why get worked up about it? Is it dumb? Sure, but they're going to the playoffs and won their division by a ton. Let's go. I sat through shit for years to reap playoffs every year. The playoffs are a crap shoot, best way to maximize your WS wins is to go to the playoffs as much as possible. We got the same shot as everyone else, and I still like our starters more so I'd likely give them a good shot on the road versus Houston; although I wish we were at home.
  5. Huh? The Sox stopped stretching Kopech out because of a lower body muscle strain? Get outta here. The Sox stopped stretching him out because they wanted him in the bullpen where they thought they were weak while they thought the rotation was fine and dandy. It was poor planning; both for this year and next.
  6. First time the organization has made the playoffs in back to back years and people are pissed off and angry. Truly amazing stuff. The season has been boring the past 2 months because they locked up the season early. I haven't even watched as much lately because the games just don't matter. Everyone knows it. Get it going in the next few days and let's wreck some havoc in the playoffs.
  7. What is more important; the results of a sample that is 95 large, or the results of a sample that is 55 large?
  8. I gotta say, OP sucks more than the Sox right now.
  9. In 2005 this team was in the midst of blowing a huge lead and playing awful, before one hit by Crede in the final week of the season that got them going. Get hot in a couple weeks, that's all that matters.
  10. Toronto the second best offense in baseball. Cease - 7 IP, 4 hits, 1 ER, 7k's @ Toronto Giolito - 9 IP, 3 hits, 8k's vs Houston He also pitched really well and shut down Toronto Lynn - 14 IP, 8 hits, 2 runs, 13 k's vs Toronto Every starter on this team can shut down a good offense.
  11. yeah, Sox would be crazy to start a top 20 starter in baseball this year because he doesn't dominate in every single start.
  12. No, please. You and Joe are on a roll. Tell me more about how they prepare, and how much they care... and what exact leadership qualities you haven't seen with your inside look at the clubhouse and practice and etc. I'm on the edge of my seat. People think that trying hard and success are the same thing. It's hilarious. Guys, just try harder and you'll do better. everyone knows that.
  13. Another guy online who knows how to identify a good leader in professional baseball while sitting home on his couch. Amazing stuff.
  14. Good thing they didn't stretch Kopech out because they were all set at SP and needed another set up man.
  15. It's absolutely amazing to me that you think you have any idea the level of work this team and players put in to prepare.
  16. Looking forward to the White SOx sweep. Please post your houston ticket before the series starts so i can unload on the Sox. If there's one thing more wrong than how the sox have played, it's you when proclaiming something bad about the team and what is guaranteed to happen. Sox win WS now; thanks Joe!
  17. Relievers are so volatile except for a couple of the best of the best in their primes. Kimbrel had already shown major regression over 4 years..he had one nice 30 inning stretch. Ill never get over the fact that we could have had Kimbrel for FREE in the off season and the cubs would have likely paid a little salary to trade him. 3 months later were trading two nice pieces and paying the bill..unreal
  18. And it was so easy. Trade for Escobar and bryant and Iglesias if you really wanted a reliever and it likely would have cost less than the price they paid for the three they got.
  19. Imagine giving up two solid pieces for the right to pay a closer coming off two bad years 16 million dollars to be your set up man.
  20. I was told kimbrel was unstoppable and the greatest piece the sox could possibly have acquired
  21. He was hitting 98 at the game I was at his past start. I think he's "healthy" but his arm isn't bouncing back after starts in the same fashion as he's a bit worn down from pushing this innings number.
  22. Didn't the Rays just lose 2/3 to Detroit, getting crushed in one game and 2 out of 3 to the Twins losing one game like 12-0? Problem with the Sox isn't that they lose sometimes - all teams do. It's that when they're in positions to win they have not capitalized/maximized those positions. They appear content with their divisional win and don't really seem to have a desire to get home field which, to me, feels really really short sighted and stupid. We've been "resting" guys for over a month now. It's not Football. This entire "get healthy" for the post season thing has led to.. well, let's not try to actually win games because maybe someone might possibly get hurt.
