  1. Speculation from who? Any speculation is likely nonsense.
  2. Huh? Keller obviously should be tossed for intentionally throwing at a hitter.
  3. You're not going to find out what was said.
  4. Tim Anderson has gained quite the twitter following and love. Everyone on Passan's tweet and the countless others tweeting FreeTim.
  5. So Keller misses zero starts - he'll just have his start pushed back a day - and Tim has to miss a game. So Tim hits a Homer - MLB promotes the hell out of it. Keller assaults Tim for it. Keller loses zero starts, Tim loses one. This is like when the NFL used to tweet out and show all the massive hits of the weekend before and then, after promoting the hits and monetizing them, they would fine the player for the hit.
  6. And MLB continues to protect Joe West. It makes no sense.
  7. Kyle Schwarber got caught on a hot mic at the end of last week after he struck out to end the game saying "Fuck You" as he charged at the umpire.
  8. This is my guess as well; I'm not sure what precedent MLB has here. You'd have to review the CBA to know for sure, but this seems like a reach.
  9. I've never heard of this in my life of baseball - a language based suspension. Language leads to an ejection, not a suspension. This is, ONCE AGAIN, MLB protecting Joe West which is just baffling to me; truly baffling. West couldn't have thrown Tim out for throwing the bat because they are trying to promote that - so even though that is why West ejected him, they're now going to pretend it was because of foul language. I'm very interested to see how this suspension holds up - it's unprecedented in baseball, and you have to imagine the union actually has a decent chance of winning an appeal.
  10. Suspended for words? I've never heard of that. Managers don't get suspended for language following ejections. The MLB official twitter account promoted Anderson's actions and then suspend him for it. That is hilarious.
  11. No thanks. Pass. Gio Gonzalez is every bit as finished as Santana. At least Santana got it done two years ago in the AL.
  12. Famgraphs has him as a their 32nd ranked prospect in baseball right now with an FV of 55. You say he doesnt belong in the modern game. They says hes a borderline all star second baseman a couple times in his career. Those two things arent equal.
  13. Yes, and it's certainly a small sample but Robert has been the best minor league player in baseball this year. There is no reason to be pessimistic or negative about what hes doing. Level regression doesnt take you from 275% better than league average to league average at the next level.
  14. You dont think he had that many eye balls on him as a senior? Come on man. Dont say your a prospect guy and then discredit and say someone who scouts still view as a top 50 guy - pretty much consensus - doesnt fit in the modern game. If you're naturally pessimistic and negative fine, but dont hide behind being a prospect guy and then be pessimistic about everything.
  15. Why? His raw power is very clearly 60+ and hes already finding a way to get to it. His tools were ahead of his production and being concerned as to what hed get out of them was a normal concern entering the year but now that his ++ raw power is showing up in games already at 21 it doesnt make a lot of sense to be pessimistic about his power. I said it before but his floor comp may be Mike Cameron. I may be being too optimistic but that's what it looks like.
  16. It's been two+ weeks and he has 3 XBH. It would be nice to see it tick upward but to day theres no room in the game for someone like Dustin Pedroia today is an odd take to say the least. By all accounts - very good defender and baserunner who can hit for average and keeps the ball in play.
  17. Yeah but there are plenty of guys in the minors that were under assigned and they didnt hit 450 with a homer every other game. At this point it's more than under assigned. He's just a freak of nature. You're greatly downplaying his accomplishments by citing his level. It's not as if hes super old for the level he is at.
  18. What would there reason be for this? Theyve already given him 30 million. The sooner he can contribute the better.
  19. Brian McCann is the biggest clown in baseball. The one against Carlos following his triple was the worst policing I've ever seen. He hit a ball he thought was gone off Cole. He didnt run right away and it bounced off the top of the wall and past McCutchen. So Gomez kicks it into high gear and gets a triple easily anyway. Cole walks over to them and yells something like "yeah, next time maybe you'll fucking run b****." Cole was mad that Gomez may have cost himself an inside the park homer and instead got a triple. Cole was mad at Gomez for doing something dumb that helped Cole.
  20. Yeah. The offense is a lot of fun. I'll take it.
  21. Hand is part of the bat in that situation. Not sure why he would get first base.
  22. I didnt like bringing fulmer up - should have picked someone else. He was starting to get some confidence with his new delivery in AAA. He needs that confidence too.
  23. That one was too close to take. Just under the zone. Could have gotten rang up there - last year he would have gotten rang up. Hes also dead set on a fastball there as he should be. Cant believe that guy threw a 3-2 curve ball.
  24. Good at bat. I'm shocked he was thrown a 3-2 breaking ball with the bases loaded. That's some respect right there.
