  1. Didn't see the first inning, but Peavy is mowing them down right now. We gotta scratch together a few each inning damnit.
  2. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 05:57 PM) Yeah, let them think what they want. Illinois was also supposed to be much improved and loaded with talent this year. But they got screwed, they should have been in the tournament!
  3. I'm with Rock. This Illinois love is ridiculous. Are Davis and Tisdale all the sudden going to realize they need to bring it every night and be consistent? Is Mccamey going to lose the attitude? And Sullinger not a stud? Gimme a break, hes a top 5 pick next year.
  4. Their both going to be stunned when they find out JFP is the real father. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 07:26 PM) Holy Moly. A good reason why 'Nova didn't meet expectations:
  5. Well at least we have a great past to look back and build upon. But back to the topic at hand, how do you not know anyone that hates Purdue? Baylors looking scary good.
  6. That just burst either ILL or Minnys bubble, depending on who wins today I'm guessing.
  7. Hah sorry, I'm an IU fan just poking fun at Weber. I felt like he was out on the court disrupting Badger passes more than his Illini players. I thought the NCAA was going to start to take a stand against coaches not staying in the box.
  8. Heading to Scottsdale. Going to have to catch some Sox ST!
  9. I would try out the buckle, they normally have a few good deals. Or shell out some cash and get some true religions haha
  10. Seriously? Cotts, Jenks, Polite, and Contreras had arguably their greatest years of their career with Cooper. QUOTE (striker @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 11:36 AM) I have to disagree with you that he has done a great job with other reclamation projects. I think he has had more failures than successes. Successes: Thornton Failures: Linebrink Jenks (keeps regressing) Aardsma Sisco Cotts MacDougal Masset Polite Contreras I'm not blaming him for the failures as much as showing you that his ability to "fix" people is overblown.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 26, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) I despise the Hoosiers, but I think the fan base needs to be a little patient with Crean. I'd give him at least 5 years to make them a good program again. Any hint of talent left that team after the Sampson debacle, so he's relying on low rated players and walk-ons to compete. He needs to get recruits in, and those recruits need to play for 2-3 years before there's any reasonable expectation that they'll become a decent team. I guess if he's still one of the bottom 3 in the league, then you might question the hire, but really so long as he's in the 8-5 range I think you have to be ok with it for another season or two. Oh I completely agree and still firmly believe Crean is the right man for the job. Some fans just think IU should be among the elite no matter how bad Sampson depleted the program. Its definitely been tough, but I believe next year is when we'll see some strides being made with Creek and Watford ready to make some noise. The bad part is that the big ten could possibly be even tougher next year. Also some are saying that Hummel may not still be 100% until midseason or later next year and are questioning whether to redshirt him next year. I can't see that happening as I think he'll be ready, but I guess it could be 9-10 months depending on the severity of the tear. Could be a Carl Landry type situation when you come back and something just isnt right and you decide to sit out the rest of the year. Who knows what will happen. Really could suck not only for Hummel and Purdue, but for their scholarship situation as well.
  12. QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Feb 26, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) I agree he is their 3rd best player ( all 3 are very close though in importance), but they are SO dependant on those three that losing any of them eliminates Purdue as any kind of serious contenders to get to Indy for the final four. When he planted in the lane Wednsday night their final four hopes blew up along with his knee. Very true. Their freshmen this year have been a HUGE disappointment besides Barlow, but even he has really struggled the last few games. Grant has picked up his game, but Hummel is irreplaceable and it will spell the end for Purdue. I wonder if Johnson will end up leading early. And agreed about my Hoosiers. They are hard to watch. Rivers is god awful. Hopefully just adding Sheehey and Oladipo with their athleticism will help us out some next year. I pray we can add one more impact recruit for 2010 or the fans will really start to question Crean with another down year.
  13. Still no word around campus about Hummel. Makes me wonder if they'll play it close to the vest and tell the media he's out for the season and then play him the next game. They did that last year.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 24, 2010 -> 09:50 PM) Crean really isn't recruiting that well to make me think IU will be in the top tier and really that goes for Minnesota as well. He got a really late start on 2010 and he's in tight with a lot of 2011 and 2012 Indiana prep players. Those two classes on paper look to be phenomenal for the Hoosier State, so hopefully he can pull in a few once the Hoosiers prove their worth next year. I just hope the Watford transfer rumors are untrue. The addition of Creek will be huge next year as I think our record would be completely different with him for the bigten season. As I have stated before, I go to Purdue and you'd think that Purdue has the Hoosier State on lock down and are on track for multiple national titles by the way the fans speak. Its already showing how much the big three mean to the team and how bad the underclassmen really are. Hummels back on the bench, but still no word.
  15. From the looks of it, Robbie Hummel may have just sustained a serious knee injury vs Minny. Left game, waiting to see what the diagnosis is, but his knee buckled completely sideways.
  16. Kroger/Payless here in Indiana sells nacho cheese in smaller portions. That's the only place I can find it.
  17. Reports on South Carolina boards are that DeMarcus Cousins punched a fan on the way off the court last night. Calimari will figure out a way to sweep this one under the rug I'm sure.
  18. It was probably because I only saw the second half when things just were not going well. And agreed about Purdue, they get away with a lot of pushing and grabbing, but I guess more credit to them if they can get away with it. Honestly can't stand Kramer, and he truely is overrated on D. He is a huge liability on offense too. Purdue goes as Johnson goes, and the statement about Painters recruiting is dead on. Indiana in 2012 has the potential to have 5-6 top 20 players, and I don't think Purdue even has any scholarships left to give out. I read that two of the guys committed had yet to even play HS ball. He has all of his eggs in one basket on Branden Dawson for 2011, who is a 5 star getting big time looks from all over now. If he chooses elsewhere, that'll hurt their program big time. If Moore, Johnson, and Hummel all stay for next year, they have enormous potential if they can have a young big man step up. Also, where the hell does John Hart come from and pull Purdue through? Maybe Painter should give all of Byrd, Smith, and Wohlfords minutes to him because those three flat out suck.
  19. Illinois just came out flat in the second half. Seems like McCamey just dribbles around in circles until the lane opens up briefly, then gets swatted on the way up.
  20. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 14, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) We are all inferior, but how is it ridiculous? So, just because im inferior, my experience as a baseball player doesn't matter. So, if I was Bryce Harper, but decided to bulk up for football, and lost my bat speed... it only matter then? Plain and simple, bulking up in muscle makes your ligaments tighten up. Having your ligaments tightening up = a reduction in bat speed. Its really not that complicated and it doesn't matter how good or bad the ball player is. This is horses***. Just because it happened to you, does not mean it applies to everyone. Sure, maybe if you lift and only lift, your going to tighten up. These guys know what their doing because they have good coaching all around them. They have the trainers there helping them out also. Jarrod Parker (Diamondbacks top prospect) and I played together when we were juniors in high school and he was topping out at about 93 that summer. He was a wiry 160 lbs. He goes into his senior season consistantly throwing 95-99 mph and had added almost 25 pounds of muscle. He also gained tons of bat speed. He said the key was the arm bands and the medicine ball activities to work on his flexibilty. These guys know what their doing, and they also have god-given talent.
  21. Hell, Purdue was up 12 with around 4 minutes to go. Hah, thats to bad. Can't wait for class tomorrow to hear the b****ing!
  22. Thought I heard the announcer say that Hughes left the 1st half early, but he seems fine in the second half.
  23. QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 04:16 PM) JJ has been in foul trouble in a few big games already, like Tenneseee. It is a weak front line other then Johnson, but Moore/Hummel are good enough to be capable of getting them past stretches in a game without JJ. They really miss Lew Jack as a primary ball handler though to create a little from the point and maybe push a few fastbreaks. They are playing that typical ugly Big 10 style games heavy on bumps and defensive contact though that is for sure. That is why I said a well coached, good team. Pearl isn't the best in game coach and his players basically run whatever offense they please. Hope Hughes for Wisconsin is okay.
