  1. Braves released LHP Luiz Gohara. Gohara was a top-50 prospect just a couple years ago, but he missed a large chunk of last season with shoulder issues and has yet to pitch this year. It's telling that he passed through waivers unclaimed, but the lefty just turned 23 so he will get another opportunity somewhere. I saw some people here had interest in claiming Gohara but with the fact that no team claimed him, I’m assuming his shoulder is shot?
  2. Yep, Rutherford strikes out too much. I guess I see him as a guy scouts thought had a great swing and that the power would eventually come around but never does, just like Sweeney.
  3. Walker actually just turned 23. Rutherford hasn’t put up a single good season in his career. He is only a prospect due to draft position and age. Walker has actually shown improvement and growth. Rutherford is a weak hitting, corner outfielder. He is basically Ryan Sweeney Lite.
  4. Will Welington Castillo still be around to inject Abreu in the ass in the Sox locker room?
  5. Even if Hostetler was terrible at his job, he could still get a promotion from the Sox. How is this a surprise? Look at some of the Sox coaching staff and front office that have basically had jobs for life, regardless of the Sox record. As long as you are loyal to Jerry...
  6. Other than some team buying into his draft position since he is still young.
  7. Walker. The only reason to keep Rutherford now is because he has no trade value because he is barely a prospect anymore.
  8. Nothing. It's very strange that they are keeping 25 / 26 year old guys down in AAA like Yermin and Mendick. I have no idea why they wouldn't be the first callups. This would be a perfect time for them to get their toes wet in the majors. The Sox can still lose plenty with them up as opposed to Goins and Skole so Hahn will get another good draft pick either way. Not sure what Hahn is thinking here.
  9. Will be be back? Yes. Should he be? Probably not, unless he signs a very team friendly one year deal.
  10. He’s 30 years old, dude. If “he’s on the team for next year!” then Hahn will have failed yet another offseason.
  11. Skole is 30. He has about as much of a future on the White Sox as I do. This is as stupid as calling up Goins over Mendick.
  12. Because Skole has a long career in front of him so we need to use these valuable at bats to evaluate him to see if he can fill 1B or DH next year. Actually, no. It’s cuz our front office wears clown shoes.
  13. Hell, I’d rather Reed get the at bats than Skole lol. Front office cluelessness.
  14. Seriously? I’d rather give the at bats to Yermin, Collins, or Mendick. What is the point of wasting them on AAAA fodder?
  15. From batting 4th to optioned. Ricky is amazing.
  16. Everyone was excited when they were winning before the Allstar break but it’s obvious that was a facade. So we may as well lose and lose hard for the best pick. None of these half measures.
  17. Cuz he likes to troll. Bring on the tank. A good college arm that is near ready for the majors is definitely what the Sox need with their first pick.
  18. My post is ridiculous? You went from talking Cole and Ozuna, to Bumgarner and Puig, and on and on. Your expectations appear to be dropping the closer we get to the offseason. I don’t see Grandal as a second tier option. Hopefully it happens but I see the Sox rolling with McCann and Collins. Wheeler and Wood are two starters I would be happy to sign but I expect one good starter and one lesser name and much cheaper option, perhaps acquired by trade. I see the Sox signing 2 to 3 bigger name free agents at most — RF and perhaps two pitchers. They will also sign some bullpen arms but not a big name like Betances. The other positions will be filled internally or with minor signings. They aren’t going to sign any big name guys to fill 2B or CF for the three week period that they have to wait to call up Madrigal and Robert.
  19. So basically, Hahn has tons of money to spend this offseason but don’t expect them to sign better than second and third tier free agents.
  20. He ate a big meatball sub for lunch and it didn’t settle right. Better to err on the side of caution.
  21. We may as well rejoice in the positives. I think they can make the top 5 in reverse/tank standings.
  22. I never said “big” trades. But I do remember Sosa for Bell, Karchner for Garland, and Cotts for Aardsma.
  23. Honestly, I could barely post what I just did with a straight face.
  24. Cuz Hahn is going to sign a bunch of top free agents in the offseason and go for it all next year with Colome as their closer.
