  1. Roberts didn't win the game either.
  2. Alomar and Cora are also in the mix.
  3. Bochy...Farrell...Alomar...Jirschele and others have none of this baggage.
  4. My hope is the new pitching coach gets Lopez to work faster. I hate his slow pace.
  5. Hey Rick....call Bochy. Thanks!
  6. Things are seldom just black or white. Many shades of gray IMO.
  7. I totally agree that neither is going to be our manager next year. However, if I need to pick between these two...It's Tony without any doubt.
  8. I'm big on catchers as well. After all my fandom started with Lopez. That is part of why Bochy has been my #1 choice.
  9. 7 or 8 years of managerial experience including a World Series win in 2013. That Boston team went from last to first in 2013 and of course, he won manager of the year. An overall winning record and tough as nail reputation. Good enough to be hired by Dave Dombrowski who gets good managers IMO. Most importantly not a hint of scandal.
  10. Bochy is such an obvious potential choice I can't imagine how little his name is brought up. He and John Farrell should be definitely interviewed if we are serious about a true interview process.
  11. I don't want to wager large sums of money on it....but I hope you are right. TLR & Hinch are way down my list of possibilities.
  12. I would love it.
  13. Jirschele
  14. It depends on who gets the managerial job. Bochy for example is known for his excellent handler of his pitching staff. Zaleski would be great working with that type of manager.
  15. You are obviously a creative thinker.?
  16. Tony is a smart guy who knows how to make out the lineup card. He has a grating personality that will get on this board's collective nerves. He thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and it shows. His age doesn't bother me as much as his personality.
  17. I would like the White Sox interviews to include: Bruce Bochy (age 65).....Joe Espada (age 45).....John Farrell (age 56) These guys are all associated with winning organizations and age-appropriate for the job. None of them are tainted by age or scandal concerns. Would love to see Jirschele be considered to serve as bench coach for any of them.
  18. I don't believe JR would allow TL to be used just for gamesmanship. If they asked for permission to discuss the managerial opening with Tony...the WS organization has at least some interest.
  19. Won't get an argument from me.
  20. One of the true surprises of the 2020 season was Jose's fine season. Well deserved award.
  21. No matter who the new manager is (Bochy or TLR)...I would like Jirschele to be an understudy. I would have been happy with Jirschele getting the job but I understand that is not in the cards at this time.
  22. My guess is McCann will sign for something less than half of a qualifying offer.
  23. I am surprised that we don't hear Joey Cora mentioned. He was always credited with the well run Spring Training camps and was a solid third base and bench coach. Probably too close to the Ozzie days but a somewhat interesting guy.
