  1. I didn't say he belongs on the team because of his bat. I repeat...he belongs on the team for his GG defense and speed. Additionally...his bat has improved since second half last year which is factual.
  2. Bench players are not going to be Mike Trout quality. They have a skill set that comes into play several times a week. Engel happens to pocess several tools that play at a high level...primarily speed and defense. He actually has been hitting since second half of last year.
  3. He was seeing the ball real well in his last at bat.
  4. Engel quietly hitting .318 and field his usual GG game. What a nice bench piece he has become.?
  5. I agree 100% with everything you said. McCann will get plenty of playing time to keep Grandal fresh. Collins should be catching full time at AAA and Mercedes would be my 3rd catcher because of his PH abilities. Only trade McCann to a desperate team willing to overpay for his services.
  6. I agree...and part of all this is that the guys on the team like each other.
  7. Moncada has acquired generational wealth even if he should break his leg tomorrow. A player is on a team he is comfortable with and is being paid more than any human can spend in 3 lifetimes. Seems like a very smart move to me...just not greedy. I admire him for it.
  8. Hope we get that kind of break when the games count.
  9. Pitching has been encouraging throughout ST.
  10. Vaughn can flat out hit.
  11. Now that's cool.
  12. He was obviously raised right.?
  13. I enjoy M-P-A for his thoughts and insights. He obviously gives his posts a lot of thought and effort. The italics thing bothers some of you guys more than it should... IMO. When I started on the forum I used all caps when I started a topic. Several people told me they found it annoying...I stopped doing it to keep peace but thought it was not necessary to attack like some do. Those of you who don't like the length of M-P-A 's posts, use of italics or double spacing should have said what and why it is bothersome. The snarky attacks aren't necessary. The forum frequently attacks and makes the poster feel his thoughts aren't respected. We are all WS fans...we have 29 other teams fans to fight with.
  14. Typical spring...I'm getting ready for the roster to be trimmed down soon. Really want to see more of the guys with a real chance to make the team.
  15. I was ready to say something complimentary about Yermin when the ump foiled my plan.
  16. Brugman and Vaughn both with classic doubles followed by a big hit by Remillard. Our boys are making a game of it.
  17. Beautiful swing by Brugman. Opposite field double.
  18. Yermin could probably get 150 at bats or there about. That would certainly be enough to alter the outcome of several games throughout the season. That's no less than anyone else being mentioned. Trades and injuries will determine who wins the final slot.
  19. M-P-A gave more detail and insight then most professional writers. I am not going to nitpick a couple of small points I might view differently. It takes real effort to state your views so thoroughly IMO.
  20. Vaughn showing a bit of the future today.
  21. Nice job of giving an even handed overview.
  22. Vaughn with a Wow defensive play.
  23. Scoring late inning runs becoming our thing.
  24. Delmonico continues his strong Spring showing.
