  1. The ball always finds the weakest fielder. Can't wait for Madrigal to get the call. I'll take Madrigal & Engel any day over Leury and Delmonico. I like both guys on my bench but not in my everyday lineup.
  2. Kind of early in the season to need to be talked down from the ledge.
  3. Thanks for doing this...it gives a ton of perspective.
  4. We have had lots of experience with Leury brain cramps. He and Adam are ideal bench pieces IMO. Nothing more.
  5. In a 60 day season that can cost us the playoffs. Madrigal is not the type of player that is going to get 20 million per year even if he is lights out. They have reached extensions with many players (Robert, Anderson, Moncada, Sale & Eloy) who were deemed much harder to extend.
  6. I don't believe the WS concern themselves as much as this board does with this extra year of control. Anderson, Moncada and Sale were all extended when they showed they belonged. Madrigal will be valuable now and can be extended when he proves his value.
  7. I fully expect Madrigal to be named to the opening day roster today. He is the best 2nd baseman on the WS team. Can't be fooling around with a 60 game season. Every game counts.
  8. I have been looking forward to seeing Mazara on a regular basis. Met a guy who played with him in the Dominican and he claimed we are going to be ecstatic with how good he is.
  9. My brain will take the under while my heart takes the over. Actually...the number should be close to the 325 target.
  10. I think Keuchel is going to work out to be a good get for us. His style really is reminiscent of MB.
  11. CaliSox suggested going to scores and selecting WS from there...worked like a charm. Thanks for your feedback and thought you might have a need for the same tip sometime. Friday is coming soon...can't be having these problems.?
  12. Worked like a charm. Thanks much.
  13. I have MLB.TV and can get this game on my computer but not getting it to work with ROKU. Anyone else with this problem?
  14. Tools are just that...tools. In my view, a high power tool might still only produce just OK results. It's about potential not necessarily about the current results. Out of nowhere TA wins the batting title. He always had the potential but last year it came together for him. His defense at times is stupendous...as you point out sometimes not so much. Wouldn't shock me at all to see GG one of these days.
  15. Refresh my memory...when was the last time the WS had 3 five-tool players in the same opening day lineup??
  16. Ozzie's freestyle rants like this one are why he is no longer welcome as a manager.
  17. Leury is a very nice bench piece...he is not an everyday 2nd baseman IMO. For all the service time manipulation talk I don't see any examples where the FO has engaged in this behavior.
  18. With that line of thinking...Delmonico will be the starting 2nd baseman...don't think so.
  19. I am saying he will be the starting 2nd baseman on opening day IMO. He may sign an extension like some of the other guys or not. He will get the job because he is the best player we have in the 2nd base position. It is in his and WS best interest. As a side note...I think there is an excellent chance he is offered an extension because RH seems to excel at finding the package that fits.
  20. I think Madrigal is the starting 2nd baseman on opening day. He is this teams best at the position and that is what will count in the end. Others said Robert and or Moncada wouldn't sign an extension because they already had enough money to gamble on themselves. Those people taking that view were wrong. TA signed one after being brought up and playing for a while. RH will get it done IMO.
  21. I can't find any flaws in this plan.
  22. When the time comes...I don't want a "group"...just one very rich guy who can't stand losing. A person who is willing to spend the money and hold the executives accountable for results.
  23. Some of the older players like Abreu and EE are likely to do better than expected hanging out with such a young and aggressive squad. The enthusiasm of youth can be catching.
  24. Nol reason this team doesn't win 60% of its games. Vast new player improvements in CF, RF, DH & C along with maturing improvement in LF, 3rd & SS. Above average SP depth and a BP looking like a strength. Of course, Madrigal will be a nice plus once he joins the team. I think 36 wins and a division title is my minimum expectation.
