  1. Most of us feel this way. It's a shame Ozzie is his own worst enemy. Between his ego and his kids...enough is enough.
  2. Good chance we would still be playing.
  3. Recidivism is a really hard word to use in a sentence.
  4. Question: Is the rule currently that managerial candidates can't be interviewed until after the World Series? Can we interview those candidates not currently involved in the playoffs?
  5. Much too high for Grandal.
  6. Good pitching, defense, speed, and hitting never go out of style. Good coaching goes a long way IMO.
  7. If JR has any sense, he will hire a proven manager and give him free reign to bring in coaches he knows and believes in. If I was going to lose my job in a few years because I didn't win... I would want to give myself the best chance of success. TL was so removed from the manager's job that he no longer had those connections. In his first go round...Tony had Jim Leland, and Dave Duncan to help him get the job done.
  8. What coaches did TL bring with him? Duncan's kid is not a coach.
  9. One of the pluses of hiring a Bochy type is they have the connections to attract top coaches and the reputation to demand the right to hire most of his coaches. I like Jirschele a lot, but he wouldn't have the pull to demand much of anything. Bochy as manager with Jirschele as bench coach would make a lot of sense.
  10. Who would be dumb enough to do that?
  11. Good teams tend to get rid of star players a year to soon rather than a year to late. Goodbye Jose! It's been a great ride.
  12. Oddly enough...the bullpen is where the off-season money was spent. Whoever did the player evaluations (I suspect KW) should be fired.
  13. Maybe coach 1st base next year if he is sincere about retirement.
  14. Tony was always fooling with the lineups so we would be ready to hit like this for the playoffs. They do look well rested.
  15. I like Jirschele a lot.
  16. I agree with you. Before we start dismantling the "core", let's see what a good manager and coaching staff can do.
  17. One of those three would be good!
  18. I hope we don't hire anyone that dumb.
  19. I'll be watching but I really don't care if they win or not. It's a long winter.
  20. Sign me up for this.
  21. Whoever becomes the manager of the White Sox...please let him select his own coaches. These forced marriages don't work.

Yeah...I know. At some point a guy of Jerry's age needs to realize he has at least some responsibility to his customers. Since we have the 7th highest payroll in baseball...I'm not really complaining about the dollars spent. My beef is holding the people accountable that are paid to produce a good product. I have supported the FO as much as anyone, but it is now time to bring in fresh talent.

I would think a rich sportsman would have some pride. I'm talk to you Jerry!
  24. Our front office is unique in that JR, Kenny, and RH work on these things together in large part. This front office won't be fixed until new ownership cleans house. I believe that Kenny is the player evaluator guy and RH is the contract guy. Since JR is the money guy, they all get into the act. It's very hard for JR to blame RH when he was part of the problem.
  25. Bochy and Jirschele where my choices when TL was hired. Nothing has changed.
