  1. Management by committee doesn't seem to work all that well. Perhaps Hahn should be allowed to make this decision...or have the balls to quit.
  2. I don't know...pretty sure that "angels in the outfield" is a real thing.
  3. Let us not forget those Sunday lineups. Yuk...
  4. I wouldn't expect any manager would want Ozzie on his staff. I am saying the FO should not try to force that move.
  5. If the new manager wants Ozzie on his staff...so, be it. Just so long as the new manager can be judged on his own merits.
  6. Just let the new manager select his own staff. It should be obvious by now that the FO has no special talent in this area.
  7. We need a manager from outside the organization who has the authority to bring in coaches from outside the organization. An on-field approach that is different from what this group of players has been getting.
  8. I would be outraged if Ozzie gets the job...but I am going to stay back from the ledge in case this stuff is just BS. The Ozzie hire would need to take place over Kenny's dead body.
  9. For the same reason you state here...I think it's Long or Espada. Both involved in the WS and shouldn't be distracted. The gentlemanly thing to do is wait for the series to be completed.
  10. I think it will be Long or the lesser probability of Espada. The only reason to keep it quite would be respect for their current teams WS aspirations.
  11. I know it would be a stretch...but I wonder if no manager being named yet and the cancellation of SoxFest might have to do with the team being in discussions to be sold. Just looking at the hopeful side of things.
  12. The Jackie Robinson thing is an interesting fact. The swag thing isn't much of an attribute IMO. We don't need a pal for the players...just a teacher.
  13. Most of us feel this way. It's a shame Ozzie is his own worst enemy. Between his ego and his kids...enough is enough.
  14. Good chance we would still be playing.
  15. Recidivism is a really hard word to use in a sentence.
  16. Question: Is the rule currently that managerial candidates can't be interviewed until after the World Series? Can we interview those candidates not currently involved in the playoffs?
  17. Much too high for Grandal.
  18. Good pitching, defense, speed, and hitting never go out of style. Good coaching goes a long way IMO.
  19. If JR has any sense, he will hire a proven manager and give him free reign to bring in coaches he knows and believes in. If I was going to lose my job in a few years because I didn't win... I would want to give myself the best chance of success. TL was so removed from the manager's job that he no longer had those connections. In his first go round...Tony had Jim Leland, and Dave Duncan to help him get the job done.
  20. What coaches did TL bring with him? Duncan's kid is not a coach.
  21. One of the pluses of hiring a Bochy type is they have the connections to attract top coaches and the reputation to demand the right to hire most of his coaches. I like Jirschele a lot, but he wouldn't have the pull to demand much of anything. Bochy as manager with Jirschele as bench coach would make a lot of sense.
  22. Who would be dumb enough to do that?
  23. Good teams tend to get rid of star players a year to soon rather than a year to late. Goodbye Jose! It's been a great ride.
  24. Oddly enough...the bullpen is where the off-season money was spent. Whoever did the player evaluations (I suspect KW) should be fired.
