  1. Leury is money already spent. He's expensive for what he is but used sparingly he's fine.
  2. Pedro is showing signs of being a good motivational communicator IMO. His phone call with Eloy was quite good. I am aware that it was in all probability staged...but lots of people couldn't have pulled it off as well.
  3. I don't know what motivates a 25-year-old millionaire. I do know that many companies hire the individual I am speaking about to do motivational presentations to their executive adult employees.
  4. Goodbye old friend.
  5. I will trust Pedro and his coaches until they prove that trust to be undeserved. It's simply a lot more fun to have a positive attitude than b**** and moan all day long.
  6. I guess you could say Tony wasn't a very good manager. Who would have thought?
  7. I know a high school coach who has won many state championships. If you were to watch his practices and the manner of talking, motivating, and kicking butt...you would know his team goes all out each and every day. Some coaches can get the most out of their athletes. Others...not so much.
  8. A new manager and coaches being able to create a culture of playing to the max is the only way we can expect a championship type team next year. Money already allotted to many underperforming players keeps us from the flexibility to go outside and acquire much help. Pedros remarks about looking over at the White Sox players at 7:10 pm on gameday was how he knew which team the Royals would be playing that night...very telling IMO.
  9. I loved that Eloy/Pedro conversation. This guy is a keeper.
  10. Yep...that's why a guy wins manager of the year one year and is fired two years later.
  11. Let him manage...it's already a sunk cost.
  12. Management by committee doesn't seem to work all that well. Perhaps Hahn should be allowed to make this decision...or have the balls to quit.
  13. I don't know...pretty sure that "angels in the outfield" is a real thing.
  14. Let us not forget those Sunday lineups. Yuk...
  15. I wouldn't expect any manager would want Ozzie on his staff. I am saying the FO should not try to force that move.
  16. If the new manager wants Ozzie on his staff...so, be it. Just so long as the new manager can be judged on his own merits.
  17. Just let the new manager select his own staff. It should be obvious by now that the FO has no special talent in this area.
  18. We need a manager from outside the organization who has the authority to bring in coaches from outside the organization. An on-field approach that is different from what this group of players has been getting.
  19. I would be outraged if Ozzie gets the job...but I am going to stay back from the ledge in case this stuff is just BS. The Ozzie hire would need to take place over Kenny's dead body.
  20. For the same reason you state here...I think it's Long or Espada. Both involved in the WS and shouldn't be distracted. The gentlemanly thing to do is wait for the series to be completed.
  21. I think it will be Long or the lesser probability of Espada. The only reason to keep it quite would be respect for their current teams WS aspirations.
  22. I know it would be a stretch...but I wonder if no manager being named yet and the cancellation of SoxFest might have to do with the team being in discussions to be sold. Just looking at the hopeful side of things.
  23. The Jackie Robinson thing is an interesting fact. The swag thing isn't much of an attribute IMO. We don't need a pal for the players...just a teacher.
