  6. it is all JM's fault (why weren;t you there?)
  7. frank always has rocked
  8. mlb radio is like 2 minutes behind so it is hard to follow
  9. I have seen a lot worse managers. Paul Richards the 2nd time - would he fall asleep by the 5th inning? Gutteridge anyone? Kessinger? Bevington? JM got us a division title ( yes I know anyone could have managed that team) and one of the better records in our history It's not the way all us do things is all I am saying. We could still keep on arguing about JM or we can move on. The Sox for me is much more about moving on. Good article you wrote though and thanks.
  10. yeah, about where I am at on that for better or worse he is gawn and the future is all I want to see
  11. good piece but I fail to understand why JM still gets bashed -

cuz you have to go to Ann Arbor for hash bash -- there's no sharing in East Lansing
  15. some creative thinking there, I like it! thanks mmmmmbeer for posting that!
  16. props to the Cardiac Kids 67 Hoosiers and I did look up their info and look who was on the USC team they lost the Rose Bowl to (first time I ever cried about who lost the Rose Bowl) Indiana cardiac kids now back to White Sox talk: if a team nickname arises it will just happen. Go Go Sox, South Side Hit Men, Winning Ugly, those names just happen. You can't pick it. If this team keeps on going on like this probably some cool name will arise that will define the season and team. Yet we never had a great nickname for the 93, 94, or 00 Sox. If it happens, it happens. I hope it does!
  17. true true with the people that I encounter, I don't tip (other than Stadium Club) which I never thought about until this question was asked. I don't buy much from the aisle vendors. Maybe that is why. but a lot of time when someone is cool I get their name and then submit that to the Sox saying that so and so is a great employee and should be recognised - now that has gotten me some good service - especially since a couple of times my comments were used to get someone named Employee of the Month. I hear they get to go on the field and it is really gratifying to be EOTM. I have to start thinking about tipping.
  18. you and Fanof14 get to see his first win of the season!
  19. well live and learn! since I know nothing about fasty league baseball, that one passed me right by! thank you Mr A for the insight!
  20. Is this supposed to mean he will for the Sox in the AL and make the All Star Team or what? Or is he in a mixed league in bowling?
  21. I cannot agree with that. Parents have as much obligation (or whatever word) to serve as single people. A lot of marriages and babies being born in 66 and 67 to avoid service before that deferment route died. The phrase "denied them a father" gets to me. But I am not saying more. Goodbye to one more thread because it just ain't going to go anywhere good if I give my opinion which is bad for me to do. In my spare time I'll write to my son and tell him that he is denying his son, my grandson, and that there are things more important than serving his country when it is attacked. Over and out. Goodbye thread.
  22. The sports Cardiac Kids were the 1967 Indiana Hoosiers football team that went to the Rose Bowl - Jade Butcher, Harry Gonzo, and Mike Eichebarger. I may have spelling wrong or one first name wrong, and I don't feel like looking it up but those three players and that team were something very very special.
