  1. someone messed with my post - I never said the "I love him anyway' thing. I don't love anyone pronouned "him" anyway
  2. Very impressed they did that with no ABs!!! (me, ducking ss2k4's swing...)
  3. I cannot fathom whom you are speaking of.
  4. by that time he will be king and his royalties will be huge. Inge will take over when IRod goes down.
  5. oh I had it as ALEwives, ALlWorld, and AmericanLutheranChurch my way was more interesting if not stupid
  6. for what it is worth, I-Rod is in a huge comfort zone. It is more than baseball. IRod (if he did sterioids, would it be IRoid?) has become to the Pistons what Jack Nicholson has been to the Lakers and Spike Lee to the Knicks. IRod is taking over Detroit. The man knows how to market and make himself at home.
  7. f*** no - really? I had never ever noticed that about you! ALE ALW ALC Could you explain those terms to a know-nothing like me? Your vast amount of work is impressive!
  8. trust me you won't - keep us posted as they say
  9. I do too. Thanks for the insights
  10. Always good to remember our history, thanks Steff! There were few highlights Sox-wise in 1922 to say the least. That was about it.
  11. Phil Caputo in his book "The Rumor Of War" speaks of (and I don't have the exact quote) never underestimating the violence level of a 20 year old American male. More than that, will be the usual comments (while attacks continue of Senator Kerry for his 1970s exposure of atrocities in Vietnam) that deny that such things happen or to say that this was not representative of the whole. Violence requires the dehumanization of the one upon whom the act of violence is commited. Humilitaion is a part of the dehumanization. Such practices are endemic to institutionalized violence. And a common fallacy is that "we" are better than "they". Human nature is human nature. A sense of history always puts into perspectives any claims of superiorty.
  12. that type of batter's eye to get all those walks means perhaps he is not getting that many good pitches to hit the home runs with and I'd have to believe the hrs will come with the batter's eye being that exact
  13. I caught that one too. Separate from any ego issues, if Ozzie were to own the town, that would be such a huge payoff for the Sox in terms of marketing and attendance and restoring balance on the other hand, if it is just ego, it will break his heart some day
  14. That is such a tough line to walk. I remember after JM lost his first series to the cubs he said "I've got to live in this town" and made it a greater priority without losing sight of the real goal. Oz wasn't with this when inter league play began. I wonder how when it comes he'll think about it.
  15. You think that's funny and yet PK would beat Aparicio in a race around the bases anyday! especially since Louie is 70 now...
  16. It is my intention to ask every week what a power ranking is - I have no idea and no one ever answers me and for all I can see they randomly put teams in some order each week will anyone explain to me a power ranking this week? I don't see any Big 10 teams on this list!
  17. so when did you date my ex wife?
  18. true - since 1987... still haven't parted with the first one...
  19. I haven't heard Hawk much this year yet so I appreciate the review Yeah, hawk does overdo I picked up what gw121 said, that last year hawk was not happy with JM
  20. Heads taught me a right click trick on the Mac - I am now right clickable and I would never ever touch a PC, my fidelity is not to be questioned!!!! right clicking the night away
  21. it was - the pbp was cool too ( ) especially since mlb radio was about 60-90 seconds late all night
  22. good to see stats like that for Rauch
