Very sad news... I feel particularly lucky now to have witnessed in-person his first career save in the Metrodome in 2005. It is pretty amazing that he came up from the minors, became the closer, and then closed out the World Series in the space of a few months. Thanks Bobby!

I hear you, but Gavin also put up like 0.7 fWAR for us between 2021 and 2022. So it's hard to just assign fault to the team. And the trend lately seems like a lot of former Sox are struggling or remaining pitiful/average: Abreu, Eloy, Yoan, Tim Anderson, Lance Lynn, etc. Jake Burger and Kopech, may have improved a bit, but that's debateable. I'm sure I'm forgetting some dudes. But it really doesn't seem like getting out of Chicago is a cure-all.
