  1. Vaughn has been pretty mediocre the last two weeks. Just saying...
  2. Luis Robert, World Series MVP for the Chicago White Sox in 2027. Book it.
  3. If this somehow means less playing time for Michael A. Taylor, Brooks Baldwin and Austin Slater I'm not sure this is actually a good thing.
  4. Very sad news... I feel particularly lucky now to have witnessed in-person his first career save in the Metrodome in 2005. It is pretty amazing that he came up from the minors, became the closer, and then closed out the World Series in the space of a few months. Thanks Bobby!
  5. Guy's been totally wild in the minors. Bring him up! 🤣
  6. I hear you, but Gavin also put up like 0.7 fWAR for us between 2021 and 2022. So it's hard to just assign fault to the team. And the trend lately seems like a lot of former Sox are struggling or remaining pitiful/average: Abreu, Eloy, Yoan, Tim Anderson, Lance Lynn, etc. Jake Burger and Kopech, may have improved a bit, but that's debateable. I'm sure I'm forgetting some dudes. But it really doesn't seem like getting out of Chicago is a cure-all.
  7. Selling buildings made out of futuristic blue cubes?
  8. Andrew Vaughn ain't it... Over 2000 PAs at this point, and it seems the best we can hope for is that he returns to an average-ish player.
  9. Thaiss has a proven ability to take a walk. Korey Lee is incapable of taking a walk.
  10. I feel a little sorry for Nicky. He came and gave us a season that was totally in line with his career numbers and he didn't get hurt every few weeks. This was far more than can be said about most of the people on the 2024 team.
  11. Fair point. It looks better for the Braves using fWAR.
  12. Hey guys, Not a lot of news at the moment, so I figured I would revisit this trade. Number in parentheses is 2024 bWAR. Atlanta Braves (0.6) Aaron Bummer (0.6) Chicago White Sox (1.2) Jared Shuster (1.0) Michael Soroka (0.6) Nicky Lopez (0.2) Braden Shewmake (-0.6) Riley Gowens (-) 145Ks in 122 IP over A+ and AA (he's kind of old though) Hard to overlook Michael Soroka's 0-10 record, but thanks to MLB Trade Rumors, I noticed that his numbers were excellent once he was in the bullpen: IP: 36.0 Ks: 60 BBs: 20 HRs: 3 ERA: 2.75 FIP: 2.75 Conclusion: The trade was a wash.
  13. The dude doesn't have a single multi-hit game for us yet.
