Soroka has by far the worst FIP of all qualified pitchers in baseball. The combination of below average velocity and bottom of the barrel control is a big problem. If he can throw more strikes I guess it's possible for him to become something of a poor-to-fair starter rather than a horrible starter.

I just can't get upset about Tommy Pham, TOMMY PHAM... getting a day off. This is not what is holding us back.

Lenyn Sosa has basically refused to take a walk during his professional career. Especially in his time at the major league level. PLEASE avoid these types of players in the rebuild to the extent possible.

Crochet's SOs/9 leads the entire league*. Hope he gets a nice start. *I assume this is among qualified starters.

Do we really think Vaughn is worse than Sheets at first? Really?

FYI - It looks like Korey Lee is throwing runners out at the league average. Around 23% of the time. But Maldonado has only thrown out 1 runner all year to a very poor caught stealing rate. Another great reason to keep Korey in the line-up as much as possible.

Weird report... he's given up 5 homeruns already and has a FIP of 6.00.

Eder has pitched less than 9 innings and Jake Burger's sample size is also super small. So let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Random thoughts... Gavin Sheets WAS a high draft pick, and Jose Valentin was decidedly better than replacement level.

This is going on 4 years of this message board debating whether it's the players faults, trainers faults, coaches fault, whether guys are too muscular, etc. etc. etc. I'm just ready to start with a whole new group of dudes.
