Erstad or Mullins type would work

I like the three pitchers as potential picks and no doubt on Crawford. I’ve only seen highlights on Gilbert, what would you compare him to?

The Curious Case of Micker Adolfo
Backwash07 replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Can’t argue with that, other than what happened with Yermin for a month last year. Not saying it would ever be at that level, but maybe at a lesser level. Then there’s either value to him on the Sox or to someone else. The time invested him makes it a special case in my opinion. But yes, I think there’s inevitable parting in the next few days. -
The Curious Case of Micker Adolfo
Backwash07 replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If they choose to go with two catchers I think a spot for micker is possibly available at least for april. I think he deserves a chance and we deserve to see it as a white Sox. It’s almost like keeping a rule 5 guy on your roster to see what he’s all about. Truly would be sad to lose him for nothing. If they are considering waiving him, orioles probably ready to swoop in. -
With Anderson suspension for first three games, do we have to play with “only “ 27 man roster?

Rick Hahn & The Art of Resource Allocation

If Kimbrel can’t be traded for anything to help us in 2022, are we better off trying to fix the bullpen expenditure issue by trading Liam Hendricks and give Kimbrel the closer role he apparently desires even if not deserved? I don’t know what Hendricks trade value would be but it’s clearly higher than Kimbrel. -
Lockout Boredom Game: Redraft One Sox Year in 2010s
Backwash07 replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Great thoughts from all of you. Just shows one or two different moves potentially changes so many things. In sox history 1985 is the year I’d change. Sox took Kurt brown fifth and Jose Mota 33. Barry bonds went six and Randy Johnson 36. I’ve never read a detailed article on this draft from Sox perspective , but this haunts me retroactively. If we took those two and they developed in minors(especially Johnson), the McDowell, Ventura, Thomas, Fernandez drafts potentially still occur. The baines for sosa trade may not need to happen then. Allowing Fisk and baines as vets leading the way from old comiskey to new comiskey. Dreams. -
Where could Kimbrel be traded, and for what?
Backwash07 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I know segura has been talked at length. If we are getting a veteran for Kimbrel who may be available, how about Randal grichek? I’d prefer payroll flex and minor leaguers, but thought he may feel right field. Looks like three years and about 28 million left on his contract? He was mentioned in trade talks prior to lock out. Thoughts? -
That’s definitely an offer we could’ve matched if Sox preferred. Simien makes sense talent wise, but Chris Taylor at probably more than half the price really interests me. Jeff McNeil trade I prefer over segura. I think Cavan biggio could also be an interesting trade partner for second base. Toronto could deal excess catcher in that deal as well. Go Sox!

What you want them to do/what you think they will do
Backwash07 replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What I hope they do: sign yan Gomes. Bring back Rodon on one year contract. Trade keuchel for wil Myers. Trade Kimbrel after picking up option for segura or gregorious. Start kopech and crochet creatively such as six man rotation at times or have them combine to pitch majority of same game. Keep Vaughn and sheets unless it’s for similar level of young player ability and contract wise but may fit roster better. The Sox payroll flexibility is seemingly gone. Going to need to be willing to take on similar iffy contracts that help balance roster better. I can only hope they truly try to win every year going forward with this group. -
Keuchel for James mccann. We are not going to get much in young prospects for keuchel or Kimbrel so trying to find somewhat similar monetary situations that may help both teams roster needs. As far as Kimbrel, guys like Myers, gallo, Cain, kiermaier come to mind.

ALDS Game 3 - HOU @ CWS - 7:07pm CDT
Backwash07 replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2021 Season in Review
If this storm comes tomorrow, do you guys think rain out is advantage for either team? -
I’d be for it. You never know how long our quality window will be no matter how good it looks now. Trading for machado could be a way to get off hook for keuchels contract. He just may be close to useless next two years. It’d be poor for us long term probably but please max out this window us my desire. Keuchel for wil Myers makes some sense as well with very similar contracts. Thoughts?

Is this new rule similar to hockey where you just have to have 28 guys on line up card for the night? Then you can switch it next night as you please? Any info or clarification would be appreciated. Thanks.

Has there been any update on when Leury comes back from concussion? With Grandal supposedly coming back Monday, just trying to figure roster construction prior to September 1. Thoughts ?

They have been checking tickets on your phone pretty carefully since all star break.

Nats selling off anything they can. Maybe white Sox can get yan Gomes tomorrow. Dream big!

Gammons reporting Fabian won’t sign with Red Sox.
-
Orioles also saved by taking cowser, but didn’t seem to go high upside after that either like the royals.
-
1. Richard Rodriguez and Jacob stallings FOR burger, Collins, Kelley, López. 2. Daniel bard and Ryan McMahon FOR sheets, afolfo, dahlquist, Truly not sure if we would need to give up more for four guys not on last year of contract. The players and positions(reliever, catcher, infield with flex), I feel is most necessary for this year. Lynn signing does allow Sox to more freely trade pitching depth. There will be strong competition for these players if they are deemed tradeable. Go Sox!

Catcher luca tresch from Nc state would be nice.
-
Looks like thatcher Hurd is going to go to UCLA unless he is posturing.

Ten relievers who could be traded, ranked
Backwash07 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
A Daniel bard and Ryan McMahon combo would possibly work. McMahon has lost playing time recently and has some position flexibility. Bard not as good as last year but he’s a vet with set up and closing experience in big games. He also still has some contract flexibility left. They cost something but you need to give to get. -
I’d prefer to take bednar or wicks if they fall in first round, then go high school hitter with upside in round two. If all the high end college starters are gone, then go high school hitters in first two rounds. Big night tomorrow to start rebuilding our prospects.
