  1. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 09:45 AM) Sisqo's Thong Song was from 1999. Breathe easier, our decade just got better. It didn't hit the airwaves until spring of '00, and hadn't saturated the marketplace until summer of '00.
  2. If Phil Rogers wrote that the sun rose in the West, we'd have topics about it. Somebody needed column inches.
  3. By my calculations, My Humps is the 3rd greatest song of this decade, behind only Kelis' Milkshake and Sisqo's Thong Song.
  4. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) I'm watching the puppy bowl right now. The half-time show was pretty fun at first, but it's been on way too long now... So it's just like the actual Super Bowl halftime show then?
  5. Sort of like the Houston fans complaining about the roof?
  6. Nice to see Dez White at the game.... playing DB for the Stillers.
  7. Brady doing the coin toss reminded me of the Onion headline after the Sox won the Series. "White Sox to face Yankees for 'Real World Series'" It was as if the NFL said "oh noes! Brady isn't going to be in the superbowl?1! somebody give him something to do. STAT!"
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) Illini fans may s*** themselves now. They rushed the floor on a loss.

  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) Ya, I wish it were televised. Imo, its the most important game of the weekend. I realize Uconn IU has glamor, but this is two of the 3 best teams in the big 10 (standings wise, cause I don't think Michigan or Iowa are better than MSU) nor do I think the Illini are. That said MSU hasn't shown up every night and they've paid that price. Wish I coudl see the game. It would be a huge win for the Hawks big 10 chances. Gotta protect home court. WCIU in Chicago.. Time for an Iowa choke job. The just said this is the first time Iowa has been in first place in the Big ten in February since 1981. It just sucks that Michigan is playing their best basketball of the decade.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) It's only interesting because some guy on mlbtraderumors posted some BS rumor that a newspaper (real journalistic quality there) picked up and ran a story on it. ANd KW talking to Philly nine days ago doesn't make it any more interesting because like I say, I bet big money that he has talked to qutie a few teams about Contreras and a few other of our players. He's always looking and willing to listen. A Timeline: http://www.southsidesox.com/story/2006/2/4/4929/61034 The whole thing could be based off me throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the wall back in December.

  15. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) I believe what we're "supposed to do", is do the classic stuff, but put a little personalization into it. Ah yes, a little baby batter on the baby's breath is a nice touch.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) Iowa got there s*** together in the 2nd half. Horner looked awesome. This is the Horner I remember from last year. Definately a different player without the brace. Iowa's defense clamped down in the 2nd half and forced some turnovers and they started protecting the ball. Shockingly, Alford did a great job making 2nd half adjustments. They showed quite a few different defenses and were able to confuse Purdue for a good part of the half. Purdue did end up shooting exceptionally against Iowa. Considering our road troubles this year, I take this as a positive as they were able to come back against a poor team on the road, but its still big 10 play and Purdue was shooting ridiculously well for a while. I thought, with the exception of Henderson jumping the lanes, the defense was just as bad in the second half as it was in the first. Horner, obviously, looked great. He was much more mobile and confident in his stroke. He was constantly coming up short on his shot, and couldn't get up on screens because he was just to slow with the knee brace on. Let's hope that this continues as his confidence in his knee's durability increases. The difference between the first and second half, was not the defense, it was Horner's shooting and just 1 turnover. More possessions + better shooting = more points = win. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) I guess. It was more a matter of Purdue's guards making absolutely terrible passes than anything else. Plus just awful defense on Horner as time after time he came off screens without the big man stepping up to guard him. Part of that had to be by design. Horner had been brutal so far this season from the field. On any other night, it would have been a great idea to let him take 10 wide-open 3's.
