Garland
It could have something to do with the 117IP on the road, compared to just 94 at home....His HR rate on the road is about 1.53/9IP @ home its about 1.7/9IP.... ------------------------------------------------ AL average for pitchers is 4.65. JG has pretty much been exactly in line(park adjusted) with league ERA every year in the bigs. Edit: Using ESPN's park factor stats -- Garlands park adjusted home ERA is 4.64 -- exactly in line with league average...

Do you trust KW?
If Grilli is a starter on this team next season, I'm putting him on E-bay. WITH NO RESERVE.

JG is a GB pitcher -- He's not an Extreme GB pitcher (Lowe, Hudson, Webb) -- There aren't many guys in baseball that can mantain a ratio greater than 2:1...

I'm glad that KW is the GM and not Ozzie -- During the pregame, Chris Bowden said Ozzie wants Garland and Grilli to compete for the 5th spot next season -- Garland has given the sox 35 victoriees the last 3 seasons, Grilli has yet to have a quality start with an ERA over 7. f*** let's give him a job... If i'm manager he doens't even get to compete for a job with me. Unless he's competing with Bafia to be the Ballboy next season. I guess I should expect this coming from a guy who's career high was 26 walks. "I want guys who can get on base" -- What an f'n idiot.

Final Home game of 2004 Game Thread
I've never said anything bad about Jose's glove, but his last 2 years have been abismal. Since the ASG at comiskey, Jose has been a getting on base less than 30% of the time. Conversely, he has been striking out almost 30% of the time... Strikeouts are overrated, but Jose doesn't even know where the ball is anymore.

Lee may be left out of future plans
Here's a question for you guys. What do you think Carlos Delgado is going to cost this off-season? He has a horrible first half, but there's hardly been anyone in baseball better than him in the second half.... If you shipped out konerko, there's a chance you could actually snag faster, better, 1B option for cheaper than Konerko's price.

Garland
Agreed -- Put him in an extreme pitchers park in the NL like Petco or ProPlayer -- and people here would be salivating over his numbers neglecting the difference between the NL and AL and the Launching pad the Sox pitch in compared to the cavernous stadiums others call home.

Lee may be left out of future plans
I think lee had his best season too... I don't think he gets enough credot for as hard as he works on his game both offensively and defensively... I wrote about in my blog-- If the choice is between Konerko/Lee, it's an easy one for me to make... Konerko out - Lee in

Garland Sucks!!! This message paid for by Grilli for 5th starter: Making the White Sox worse

To me it's a ruse.... I didn't see him carted off the field, so I don't know for sure. It looked like he hurt his shoulder from the way he landed with his arm extended... then when he rolled over he pointed to his chest/shoulder.... As I said I never saw him carted off, but which sounds worse for your quarterback, sprained knee or anything related to his shoulder/throwing arm?

1.93 million
July 1st the sox Stole one from Santana on a beautiful pitching performance by Garland... They had just swept the Twins and the team thought they had this thing won... The first 6 games in July the Sox didn't score more than 2 runs in any of them, and every offensive hole had been exposed.. Valentin/Crede/Harris/Uribe/Timo ... Once frank went down in FLA it was all over.... Most fans didn't recognize it, but you could see the writing on the wall. (this is when I realized we would not win the Central) I could point to earlier games they should have won, games that Koch blew... The Garland perfect game vs. Montreal -- each was just a precursor to what was on the horizon.

1.93 million
Yeah back in July I figured 2.3MIL, what I thought was conservatively, they definitely would have showed up if they kept winning.... I went to 6 games before June, 1 in July, 1 in August and none since.

Manning has more TD passes in 1 half than the Bears have had this season.

2004 College Football Trash Talk Thread
I believe the ruling on the play was not that it was a blocked punt (which occurs when you touch the ball after it has contacted the foot), but a fumble which happened to go off of the punters foot... The Illinois player clearly swatted the ball down.... It's a stupid rule.. But that's how we figured they ruled it when I was watchin w/ my Friends. I've gotta give credit to Illinois, they played a great game... I called Purdue's D underrated, I based that off of last years defense more than anything. They were really good vs. the run last year. Yesterday they were abismal. Also Drew Tate is Good. I miss Bob Sanders and Fred Russel(Who had 1 year of eligability left)
