Power steering is overrated -- Back in my day cars could only turn left. -- If you wanted to make a right turn, you had to go a block past the street you wanted to turn on and make three lefts.

That would explain the lack of a response I got then. -
I was really rooting for the triple in his last two AB's -- I would have pissed myself like a little schoolgirl if he was able to hit for the cycle.

I'm Far from excited, but right now, he is the most solid option, should an outfielder go down.

I was thinking the same thing -- wether people hear belive it or not, RIGHT NOW, JB is closer to the major leagues than JR is. JR is hitting just barely above the mendoza line for the month of may. -- I've listened to the two Knights games prior to todays, and JB sounds like he is finally healthy -- I know he's stolen a base and had a couple of attempts erased by foul balls, had three infiled singles in a game that required hustling down to first base, made some great plays in the outfiled that required diving catches -- Sounds to me like all of those nagging injuries have cleared up and he's plating to his ability lately. Unfortunately the opposite is true for Reed. It seems his wrist injuries may have caugth up with him. I know after his hot start in April, I called for him to take more walks. -- He wasn't getting them at the same rate that he had at all his previuos stops. Now he is getting the walks, but the average is dropping along with it --

97 year old minor league record broken
Gene Honda Civic replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Closer inspection of his numbers reveal that he's not really making as many people miss as is Munoz, who plays in the same league. They are getting hit at the same rate, but munoz is getting more strikeouts. Thompson has really limitted the walk, and I suspect that, and good defense have really been what made his runless streak possible. In 9 games Rauch has only gone 49.1 IP. That works out to about 5and a half IP per start. They have routinely been pulling him "early" -- I don't know what is going on there.

It takes twice as much energy to complain about a toilet seat being left up than it does to actually look and make sure its down, then put it down if its not -- The amount of time wasted on this "invention" could have been used on something useful, like trying to cure cancer -- Or makin' me dinner b**** -- Stupid women engineers -- /awaits the "Queen"s response.

Alou's and Bonds
Gene Honda Civic replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I don't care if he was in a wheelchair, he's still a better offensive option than ANYONE else on that team -- He was not on the DL, so he is eligable. So by all mean play the damn guy. How mad would you have been if there was a bases loaded situation in a tie game in the ninth, and we sent Timo Perez to the plate, when Frank(hobbled with a hamstring injury) sits and reads f***ing Cosmo on the bench. There's NO excuse for not playing Bonds. NONE -------------------------- After all my complaining, I'm sure he suffered a major heart attack or something truly is wrong with him, so that I'll look stoopid later. -
Alou's and Bonds
Gene Honda Civic replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'm fuming over here --- I got RIDICULOUSLY good seats to this game, I refused to go, and sold them --- Now I'm going to have to listen to my friends about how great Moistest Alou is. Not to mention they really went just to see Bonds play -- (I saw enough of that f***er last season) -- Felipe Alou and Barry(I'm too f***ing selfish to pull a Kirk Gibson)Bonds get a big :fyou -
Here's a WTF!?!? -- you selfish pussy. Bases Loaded -- Top of the 9th, 2 outs -- Tie game -- WTF is Bonds doing sitting on the bench -- If nothing else they are going to walk home the winning run -- Why not run him to the plate after Durham draws a walk -- They will undoubted ly pitch around him at that point and move a runner into scoring psition, who then can be bunted over? So Filipe Alou makes stupid moves/Bonds is crying about his steroid injected back, so Moistest Freaking Alou can be the HERO?

The second part of that is assinine -- Although I think the North is wide open, and the Bears have as good a shot at finishing first as they do of finishing in last -- The bears record will largely be determined by thier ability, or lack thereof, to adapt to the new systems. I can guarentee they don't finish with the worst record in football.

It's been around a while -- I wrote to Brooks boyer and told him that it was a poor piece of marketing, especially when compared to that pepsi commercial w/ Sosa -- I haven't recieved a reply yet -- Though I encourage all of you to write him. -

I think it was from there where he was quoted as say "I'm throwing junk" -- THough I had heard his velocity had climbed from the 83MPH range up to around 87, but I'll take a solid outing -- Hopefully he can gain some armstrength/speed and build off of this -

borchard was 3-for-4 with 3 infield singles and a K -- The announcers were raving about Grilli, even though he took the loss -- It sounded to me like one of them played with Steve Grilli, Jason's dad, so they weren't exactly the most impartial source.
